yeah, fair point...if its just roadworks you can plan accordingly, it's when some twonk crashes in the roadworks you may have an issue.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
I would avoid the dual carriageways listed above if driving at night, bendy roads and no street lights.
Did South Wales to North Wales the other week:
A465
A4059
A470
A481
A4830 -

What we've needed in Wales for many years is a proper north/south motorway..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

I do South Wales to the Lakes reasonably frequently, and while the above route is scenic - particularly on the A4059 between Penderyn and the A470, it's not a quick route - parts of the A4059 would be quite 'interesting' in the dark as the sheep wander across and down the middle of the road at all hours. As it's common land you may also come across some wild horses.
The A40 has some twists, but the cat's eyes and reflectors in the central reservation will see you right.0 -
I think funds are tight. I have offered to put them up. They say they're working the next day.
I'm worried they'll be on the road all night going back.
I'm also worried that I'll spend my whole party worrying about them!
If you have a spare bit of cash for a Premier Inn or similar, just book it and tell them you've done it, so they may as well stay. If you do it on a cancellable rate (but tell them you can't cancel - a white lie but will give them a fait accoompli) it shoudln't be too expensive and if they insist on not staying, then you can cancel it at the appropriate time...0
