    Hi Z,
Yes, I've had experience of one of those taps at my catsitting gig for my nephew and his wife. I think its a different model - I'd say the gap between switching it on and getting water hot enough to make a cup of tea is less than half a second, not 3 seconds like that Amazon link says. It's absolutely amazing, to be honest, if I was refitting my kitchen, and it was that sort of price, or even £100, whatever, I'd go for it.

Sorry to hear you've also had bulb problems - and yikes, glad you weren't injured! Very Not Good.

Don't work too hard on the house :)

I'm not thinking of one for a cuppa - I'm with the women at work who say you can only make a cup of tea with a kettle (coffee is OK though). I'll be getting one so I can wash my hands or whatever without needing the tank to be full of hot water.

If you think they're absolutely amazing, then that's a recommendation. ;)

It didn't go bang, it just sort of flickered, then made a phzzt noise then went dark - a bit like a politician trying to think of a good idea.

I definitely recommend them for cups of tea, but for washing your hands underneath, I'd check that you can set it for the right temperature - you'd scald yourself instantly if you tried it with the model I used.

When I was coming to the end of my office work career (erm, more than 30 years ago? :o:o:o) people had tiny little hot water heaters over the kitchen sink that could be manually switched on and off at will - sort of a kettle attached to the wall. I don't even know if they're still made, the new taps being what they are etc, but that might be more relevant.

Good luck with it, though, and the work - let us know what you're doing.

We have something similar at work - but it dispenses boilingish water. It was supposed to replace the kettle as the kettle was deemed to be unsafe for untrained people by "Those Who Know Best". The women at work fill the kettle from the boiler and boil it as they want proper tea.

The one I linked to (not neccesarily the one I'll get) just dispenses warm water. The "45" hopefully indicates Celsius and not Fahrenheit...

Just small but important stuff like filling holes in one place and cutting other holes somewhere completely different.

I need carpets though. Lots and lots of carpets...

My stairs need tightening up, then re-carpeting. About 21 sqm for the stairs alone.
