iOS 11 bug: banner notifications no longer appear after unlocking

On my iPhone, I configure notifications for nearly all apps with "Show on Lock Screen" switched off and with banners switched on. In all previous iOS versions, this caused a sound as soon as a notification arrived, often a sound specific to the relevant app, and then after unlocking the iPhone, the sound would play again with a banner notification.

Since upgrading to iOS 11 on my and my girlfriend's iPhone 7 and my daughter's iPhone 6, when a notification is received while the iPhone is locked, nothing happens after unlocking the iPhone - neither the sound nor the banner. It makes no difference whether:

• Banners are set to "Temporary" or "Persistent" (the latter being new functionality in iOS 11);
• The new "Show Previews" setting in the global Notifications settings is set to "When Unlocked" or "Always".

Since iOS 11, banner notifications are now appearing only if the notification is received at a time when the iPhone is unlocked. This appears to be a bug in iOS 11 and it is not unique to one device but occurs on multiple iPhones.

I tried posting this in Apple's own forums, but it gives me an error "You are not allowed to create or update this content". As I can still post about other matters, it suggests that Apple is possibly censoring reports of this bug.

Never heard of apple censoring reports of bugs so unsure why you can't post a fault or issue on their site.

I have still to update to IOS 11 so can't confirm your problem and all I know is they got rid of notification centre in IOS 11 and replaced it with "cover sheet" so maybe its a feature with this new method of notifications that creates this issue for you.
