Having had to stand around a cold car park for 30 minutes because my niece's car wouldn't lock: I'd buy something else.

Was it a fault on the car, or was it someone trying jam the frequencies so they could help themselves? I don't know for sure, but she sold it soon after.

Doesn't the key lock it? It opens it if the fob fails.

I love Landrovers, I've had 4, but you can't have a Landrover as your only car.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

I've taken Land Rovers to some pretty remote spots on the planet and my experience is that even, though they can go wrong, they tend to still get you home.

I hasten to add that I'm not talking about Range Rover Evoques of course! :)
  • I know somebody who got a brand new RR sport a few months ago. I did point out it is almost a certaintity that it would break down and it did, 2 days after she got the keys. I have to admit that was sooner then even I expected.

    Well known Zambian saying

If you want to go into the bush take a Land Rover

If you want to come out again take a land cruiser.
  • looking at buying a Range Rover Evoque. ... Would you know of any major issues as to the car or whether it is reliable?

Worst car I've ever had! I bought the girlfriend one a couple of years ago and will never buy a Range Rover ever again. Completely UNRELIABLE and very poor customer service.

Day one, Brand new £44k Evoque Dynamic Lux collected from the showroom and the rear light cluster was all misted up; staff assured me they'd just washed the car and it would disappear... of course it never did, was always full of condensation and eventually they admitted it was faulty and replaced the lights.

Over the next 18 months or so then had the joys of:

    • Wheels squealing
    • Fuel leak(!)
    • Flat battery so wouldn't start
    • Sat Nav crashing and losing all locations
    • Low coolant level every other day
    • Losing power when travelling at speed (so you'd find yourself on a 70mph road and the car would suddenly slow down to 20mph!)
    • Crackling noise from the sound system
    • So many problems I can't even remember them all

Local dealership were very poor, had to keep complaining and taking the car back again and again to get anything fixed.

Seriously just don't buy one, you will so regret it.
Every generation blames the one before...
