You are going great guns with it all. Am beginning to think you live in a mansion with all your cupboards and voids:rotfl:Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0

This wasn't a huge job to be fair. In the cupboard normally there is a large plastic box of books which don't fit in our current bookcases, some outdoor shoes on top of the book box, the hoover and a small stockpile of tins and jars of food. This was all well and good, but lurking at the back right under the stair treads were some mysterious objects wrapped in plastic bags .
So I dragged these out and unwrapped them. I found DH's drain unblocking kit (wellies and heavy duty plastic gloves), two other pairs of wellies, some paint stained clothing, a dust sheet, a wire brush, and a currently unidentified metal object (old boiler or fireplace part?). The plastic bags all disintegrated as I unwrapped them, leaving bits of plastic all over the carpet .
The only useful items from this collection are DH's drain unblocking kit, the dustsheet and the wire brush, which are now in the new shed (which I'm still in love with). The painty clothing is to be disposed of and the two random wellies can go to the charity shop. I need to consult DH about the mysterious metal object but I'm hoping that it can go to the tip.
The cupboard is now much emptier at the back, so I've been able to transfer the rest of our food stockpile there from the kitchen where it was cluttering up the counter. So I've gained storage for useful items, found some lost items, and earmarked the rest to leave the house. A very useful exercise indeed :T.
I'm sitting down with a celebratory diet coke now. You can tell I'm on the mend because things are happening ::rotfl:.
Well done you are definitely feeling better and on a decluttering roll. The plastic bags disintegrating scenario made me smile. My OH's version of tidying up used to be stick things in a plastic bag then putting them behind the settee, under the bed, in a cupboard.... They were often in plastic bags that were going to decompose in time [mainly from co-op] when everyone wasn't so aware of single plastic use and bags were given away for nought. Of course when I started to clear things and declutter, the bags which had been there for years, disintegrated into tiny pieces and went EVERYWHERE :mad:0 -
I wish we did live in a mansion Sunshine :rotfl:.
We actually only have two understairs cupboards (one large and one small) and four voids. That is the only built in storage we have.
The void spaces are quite big though and we can access them from our attic bedroom through doors and I can go right inside the voids. Unfortunately because the void areas are so big it's allowed us to store a lot of clutter over the years.
I've de-cluttered the big void over the Easter holidays, but I need to go through it again because I've still kept too much stuff. Today I did two of the smaller voids and the small understairs cupboard :T.
That just leaves one small void, but it's packed to the rafters with the DC's old toys, so that will be a big job . I'm tempted to make a start on it today though as I might be able to identify a few big items that DH could take to the charity shop today. That would make a bit of space so I could see what else is in there. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Thanks TF2. Yes plastic bags are the worst thing for long term storage:rotfl:.

Thanks DIA. I've got a lot more de-cluttering to do as I'm feeling VERY motivated at the moment :rotfl:. But once again I'm going to run out of holiday before I run out of clutter . Little by little I'm getting there though
