  • Hi everyone.

I had a NSD today apart from DS3's bus fare. DH had to drop him off (again!) but he still had to get home .

I walked up to the post office to post a business parcel, but that comes out of business expenses so doesn't count.

I really enjoyed seeing my friend at lunchtime. It was at her house so no money was spent. It was great to catch up with her news :).

We got a reasonable amount of work done and I did a YG survey :).

I'm so glad it's Friday because the house is a tip and I'm shattered. Walking up the hill to the post office nearly killed me :eek:.

  • That's a good way of looking at it Cumbria :). You have a good evening too.

I seem to have lost all my fitness in the past couple of weeks and I've put on weight because my jeans feel tight . I'm very cross with myself :naughty:. I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow and assess the damage .

I need more walking and less eating. I haven't had any chocolate for three days so that's a good start :T.

I love chocolate but I feel better when I don't eat it as it seems to set off my ibs :o, plus I lost two stone when I stopped eating chocolate and went for a walk every day :j.

I try and only eat chocolate on special occasions as a treat, but I've been a bit naughty lately due to all the stress, hence putting on a few pounds .

  • It does sound like you need a Social pot SSG. Do you keep your pots in lots of different savings accounts, have an envelope system, or are they virtual pots?

I keep all my cash in my Santander 123 account as I find it the best interest rate for easy access cash at the moment. I don’t want to lock my EF up. With regard to splitting the cash into my pots I do this via the You Need A Budget (YNAB) budgeting system. I find it invaluable and I know where all my money is allocated and how much is in each pot. You can set up as many as you like. You do have to pay for it but they haven’t increased my fee this year and I always get 10% off as a longstanding customer. You can have a free 30 day trial and join live tutorials online. Might be worth having a look.

Re chocolate - every day could be a chocolate day as far as I’m concerned. :D

Just catching up with you and am pleased to hear BIL is back home :) I work with someone who adores chocolate and they give it up to lose weight. Personally I prefer a glass of red wine :)
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Thanks SSG. I need to find a way to organise my pots.

DH and I have got an ISA and I have an online savings account linked to my current account, which is where our two emergency funds are kept at the moment.

I'll have a look at the Santander account as I like the idea of a third savings account. I don't like the idea of having all my money in one place. Paranoid? Me? :rotfl:
