You're not moany, HHoD, nor is anyone else who needs to tell it like it is at the moment. What with Covid and all the restrictions and deprivations that's brought for so very long it's also the worst time of year for low mood. Most of us didn't have the fun of a normal family Christmas to look back on either. I don't think any of us are full of the joys of spring, literally!
I can see how that lovely gift of daffodils cheered you and the other staff up. Lie many other posters, they're my favourite flower too even though yellow is normally my least favourite colour for most things in life. I envy anyone who has any in bloom or emerging by now. We are not far from Wordsworth country but I doubt he saw his famous host fluttering and dancing in the breeze this early in the year. As for rain, this area is famous for it. Our garden is so waterlogged at the moment that I haven't been out to check if any of our daffs have poked a tiny spike through the soil yet. Likewise the snowdrops which put on a brave show every year, they must be aquatic!
Just a thought about becoming more slow-witted which, like many posters on here, I'm also experiencing. I think a lot of it is because we've been starved of company and conversation for so long. You know, the quick, funny banter that most of us experience in normal circumstances. We're either locked down with children or one or two adults. Even if we meet other adults they're masked up and isolated by screens and definitely don't want to chat much!
I hope the VAT return went well and you can put it behind you now. Have a good day.

Back again!
Just saw this in this weeks' MSE newsletter from Martin. What a coincidence after what we were all talking about the other day about cheap glasses! May be of interest to your son. Sorry if link doesn't work (first time I've tried inserting one) just check this week's newsletter. Good luck.

I had a better day today despite the weather being worse 🙂. I went to bed earlier last night which helped so I was probably over tired yesterday.
Lunchtime was heavy rain 🌧 ☔ and strong winds 🌬 so the children had to stay indoors, but the teacher put a video on before she left and they did some colouring, so it felt much pleasanter than being out in the rain and the wind. In the afternoon the children were doing a DT project which made lots of mess, but I always enjoy craft afternoons so it was fun 🙂.
I decided to walk home despite the weather as I'd been sitting around at lunchtime instead of walking around and I want to lose the four pounds I put on over Christmas 😡! I found the walk surprisingly tiring so I obviously need to do it more often rather than let DH pick me up (the two hills between my house and school don't help, but there are hills in every direction where I live and it's good for the leg muscles 🤣) .
I hope everyone has had a good Wednesday and better weather than I had 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Rain here too. The river that runs through town has broke its banks in places....there are flood gates a couple of miles downstream which have been opened. Hopefully that’ll sort it but we really need it to stop raining now.Glad you had a good nights sleep and a good day 👍January spends - £587.585
