  • Thanks MTG :). We were out for ages because when we arrived at the tip they were emptying one of the containers and after ten minutes a queue of 26 cars had built up . I'm pleased to get rid of all the rubbish from the garden though.

We were supposed to buy milk on the way back, but ended up getting water, tomatoes, baby sweetcorn and coleslaw too, so it came to about £13 . We've got a dessert to take tonight, but my parents are coming for dinner on new year's eve so we needed a few bits for that.

I managed to de-clutter my drawer and I've got a rucksack full for the charity shop again :T. I've now got somewhere to keep my night clothes, tee-shirts and hoodies :j. The only downside is I feel tired now and I've got a backache :(.

I'm glad I don't have to cook tonight. I've had two AFD so I could probably have a few drinks tonight :D. My eating's been much healthier, but I did sucumb to a few crisps earlier. I'll be glad when all the bad food is out of the house .

I've got loads of rubbish to get rid of too. Our local council do free pick ups in January and February so will take advantage, can't face paying out for yet another skip.

    Enjoy your evening xx
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • That's good with the free collections SA - my council want £23 to collect the dead exercise equipment that will not fit in the car.

HHoD hope you have a lovely evening. Glad you lost the rubbish so quickly, hard to be upbeat when it simply repopulates itself within days.
  • Hi Hairy,
Thanks for your comment on my new diary (I am still trying to calculate my SOA, difficult when payments in are sporadic and payments out HAVE to be paid), I will be updating with my situation tomorrow morning.
I stayed up last night and read through your thread, every last post of it! I got quite into it, following your debt free journey, BIL illness, weddings and your sons journey to America. You must be incredibly proud of him.
Sounds like you are having some productive times with decluttering, keep up the good work. I made a start by taking 3 bags to charity shop, a load of rubbish to the dump and posting some bits onto people who appreciate them more than me.I was going to work on declutter/tiday tonight, but OH got drunk last night and I still don't think he should be driving our DS & this friend to an event, so I am going so I can drive them there safely!
    Have a great night,
  • Hi Hairy

What all this, confusing us by having a Saturday wander on a Friday?

I am just off for a wander too. I didn't manage to get out at all yesterday so need to get out today.

There's something really enjoyable about decluttering at this time of year.

    Take care
    Pauline

  • Happy Saturday/ or is it Sunday?

Sounds like you have achieved a lot. Decluttering the house is also good for the mind. There's something cathartic and therapeutic about it!

Any plans for New year's eve? x
    September 2017 Debt = £25330

    Starting afresh.

You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x
  • Good news on the de-cluttering Project! It’s so nice to have decent room in cupboards/drawers for your clothes. I’m going to try and make 2018 the year where I finally get to wear the clothes under my bed which are currently too small!

    Enjoy your Saturday!

Wow I'm jealous of your free rubbish pick ups SA! Our council charges a fee to pick up three items, which is annoying if you only have one . We put out a sofa a few year's ago for the council to pick up, and the next day a giant tv had appeared on top of it .

Our rubbish does seem to repopulate frighteningly quickly, even though I recycle like mad . I filled up half of our recycling bin just today .

    Have a great night,

Thanks for reading all of my ramblings Notmy1st :) my diary has been a bit of a stress fest since I started it, but with some good times too :).

You've done some good work on the de-cluttering front. I always feel more cheerful after I've de-cluttered :T.

I think you're wise to drive DS and his friend tonight .

It confused me too Pauline :rotfl:. I'm glad you went out for a wander, it keeps raining here which is a bit off putting .

There is something about a new year that makes people want to purge their possessions I think.

I agree Nicnak it's very therapeutic :). My parents are coming for dinner on New Year's eve.

Good luck with that SSG, that's a good goal to have :). Eating out over Christmas makes it a lot harder .
