That's epic work with the books HH - well done! We try to operate on a "one in, one out" rule here, but it doesn't always really happen. I also realised that we only have one room without books in it - that being the bathroom which wouldn't be big enough for a bookcase even if I wanted one in there! I also really wouldn't fret about not having done things off your list - if the book thing felt like the right thing to do for quality of life, then that is a god enough reason to have prioritised it! Also, I don't think you are going to be short of time to tackle the list, somehow!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks Milann 🙂. I was like that for the first two weeks but now I seem to have turned into a whirling dervish 🤣.milann said:The past 3 weeks have passed surprisingly quickly so like Beanie says 12 weeks will pass - you’ll have lots sorted in that time if you keep at it. I’ve not done much at all except sit in front of a screen....I need to give myself a kick up the behind me thinks.
Thanks EH 🙂. I definitely felt obsessed with sorting books today and it's surprising how much you can get done when you feel inspired by a project.EssexHebridean said:That's epic work with the books HH - well done! I suppose I should be thankful that my house is a tip so that I lots to do during lockdown and don't have time to be bored 😁.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

You're making fantastic progress. At least you're chipping away at what needs doing, you can't do it all at once. Now I'm at home all day I keep noticing stains and crumbs everywhere, especially when the sun shines. And it doesn't seem to matter how many times I clean the house it never looks any blooming cleaner 😣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Just noticed you said you had a bookcase in the bathroom. Doesn't all the steam from everyone's baths and showers make the books damp?
Just been having a catch up and there were over 30 posts on your diary to catch up on! A friend phoned me yesterday and mentioned that there seem to be lots of fire engines speeding past where she lives. No idea what that's all about, she isn't aware of any fires.4 -

Yes the books can get a bit damp but there isn't room for the bookcase anywhere else. I try to open the window after anyone's had a shower. You can tell I'm not at school because I've got time to blather nonsense on my diary all day long 🤣. Could the fire engines be a training exercise?Delichon said:Just noticed you said you had a bookcase in the bathroom. Doesn't all the steam from everyone's baths and showers make the books damp?

thats a lot of books for the charity shop.......I keep thinking if the charity shops are going to get overwhelmed with all the donations as everyone is decluttering (including me) it'll be some surge in their stock after this is all over xxNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.054

I think they might be overwhelmed too. I know a lot of people who have a boot full of things ready to donate. I am just glad that I did mine before the lockdown otherwise I would have a lot of things too!

Yes I wouldn't be suprised if they get massive donations once they open. Luckily for me I have a huge warehouse style charity shop near me and they'll take any amount of stuff, they don't even look at it they just take it. That's where I donated roughly a thousand books last summer.Nicnak said:I think they might be overwhelmed too. I know a lot of people who have a boot full of things ready to donate.
