On further reading this exercise is a quarterly cross check of existing and newly declared illegal immigrants with the existing UK banking records.
There exists a potential for identity conflict . But since everything is computerized there should be no problems.

People shouldn't be blase about this as anybody, including British citizens, could find themselves at the receiving end of an error. There has been plenty in the News recently about the Home Office making errors, and as they are ramping up the checks, it's likely there will be more rather than fewer errors.0 -
