TalkTalk Mobile SIMO £374 "early" termination fee

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

On 01/07/17 received an email from TT Mobile about their prices increasing from 08/08/17. This is part of their email:

If you want to change or cancel these SIM plans without charge or penalty, you can do so by calling us on 0345 172 0068 within 30 days of receiving this email.

So on 12/07/17 I got in touch with them to cancel my 4x SIMO and to get my PAC numbers. All 4 numbers were subsequently transferred b/w 17/07 and 25/07 to Three and Plusnet, so well within their 30-day limit.

Today, 20/09/17, to my surprise I get a new bill from TT Mobile for £374 for early contract termination. I got in touch with them straight away and they are saying that they have no record of me requesting contract cancellation! But they can't explain how I managed to get my PAC codes.

In the end, I got nowhere with their "customer support".

Their bill is for £374, including £18 credit for advanced mobile charges (paid in August). Therefore they should pay me £18.

Any advice how to talk to these clowns?

BTW, I have cancelled their direct debit with my bank.

1) Make a formal complaint.

2) If they ignore it or don't resolve it go to the Ombudsman after 8 weeks - or earlier if you get a letter of deadlock. OR

3) Send a LBA and sue if they don't comply.

4) Cancelling the direct debit is likely to ruin your credit files for the next six years unless and until THEY remove the entry.
