This Duo's debt free journey

That sounds good. I think when you get into the momentum of trying to be debt free, you start to stress about it and pay off more than maybe leaves you comfortable. I have found that I have gone from one extreme to the other, and I need to find that happy medium. Glad you have sensed it and found it too. Like you said, less stress. We decided to 'sort out' stuff this weekend, like with everything at the minute, it went out of the window. I', so exhausted at the end of every week, I get nothing done. I love your motivation!
Fab on the £15. Every pound gets you closer! xxSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Yes I'm hoping that now I will find my happy medium, I think it really helps your motivation when you know its realistic and that you can achieve it. Any over payments will help reduce it and bring the date forward but that will just be an added bonus and I think for now I would rather put anything extra in savings than clearing debt (apart from the loans) purely because of the interest and that learning to save more will help me in the long term.
I wasn't expecting the £15 so was very impressed, I think I have about £130 for the SPC now which is fantastic, I hope I can keep up with this pace, I'm hoping to achieve finding £2018 in 2018 which I will put into the potChange the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
That's a great target to aim for. Realistic is deffo the way forward. I think another one is not wishing away time to get to the next pay day. Enjoy the journey and learning xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Totally agree x
You sound very organised x“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -
I agree Nicnak, I'm hoping that my new budget will help stop me from wishing time away. I still have so much to learn and by wishing time away I won't learn anything, instead I need to evaluate my actions and use the time wisely.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0

Had a very lazy day today, did give the bathroom a good clean and managed some ironing and the washing up. Going to work on my assignment this evening as it needs to be handed in on Tuesday. I feel like I have a million things to do! After the clear out of smalls room I have two bags of stuff to give to a charity shop, I have never given anything to one before, is it just a case of dropping the bag into a store without prior notice?
Tomorrow
Appointment
Give kitchen a good clean
Top up shop
Charity shop drop off?
Order school photos

Hello!
When I donate to a charity shop I walk in to the counter and explain what I have and if they want it. I know not all charity shops take toys or if they have too much China they don't want more. I like to go to Sally Army. Makes me feel more confident they won't just chuck it in the bin. Another idea is giving it to a women's refuge so the children there have something to play with at Christmas. You'd have to ring them or ask on Facebook. My church was collecting for them so I only had to take it there.
You sound like you're doing great with debt busting. I like your plan for overpaying the loans. XLoan 1 £5200/£8000
Loan 2 £300/£5800
Total £5500/£138000 -

Today has been very spendy and I will need to adjust my budget after the unexpected and unplanned costs for the appointment and the school photos! I should have £110 coming back to me over the next week or two which will cover both of these.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
I'm feeling completely prepared for December, today I have set aside money for my budgets, I have taken my cards out of my purse, including my debit card so that I can't spend without thinking about it. If I come across an emergency while I am out then I can always access cash through the emergency cash on the app for my account. I am determined to stick within my budget, I have been very generous with my budgets so if I can't stick to them then there is something seriously wrong with me, I am hoping that I will have around £100 left at the end of the month that I can carry over to January.
December Budget
Food £150 - My worst enemy, I have increased this so there is no reason why I can't stick to it.
Car £110 - Covering fuel and MOT, I have 3/4 tank going in to December so shouldn't be an issue unless I need some work doing.
Gifts £80 - Mums birthday and remaining Christmas, again I shouldn't need this amount as Christmas is almost complete.
Other £60 - To cover anything day to day, parking for example. I have put this here just to keep me on track and to stop me having to dip into other areas for anything last minute, but once its gone, its gone.
Total - £400
I'm really hoping that this will help me turn a corner with my budgeting as it is something that I've realised I struggle with more than I thought.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
