  • Oh heck - Christmas shopping. Yes. Hmmm.

Second hand books - they're a way of giving to charity as far as I'm concerned - I use a couple of local charity shops that do 50p paperbacks, then when I've read the books they pass on to Mum, and she does the same - then we each pass them back to one or other of the charity shops once we're done - so everyone wins! I have a handful of authors whose books I'll hang on to when bought but mostly they just get recycled round again.

  • It is getting more crazy out there, I think I will get the remaining presents online so that I can avoid the shops!

When you put it like that EH it really is a great way to give, I had a lot of books that I wasn't sure what to do with and passed them over to my mum, if she hasn't done anything with them yet I might take them to a charity shop, not all at once though as there were far too many for me to manage.

I recently went through my amazon purchases and left reviews for everything, one of which I mentioned that the item might not last very long as the quality wasn't the best, I have now received an email saying that they are processing a refund (£6.99) and sending me a complimentary gift. I am extremely impressed by this service, I was not expecting anything whatsoever when I wrote the review.

  • That's fantastic. A little gift too. It might make a Christmas present for you! X

Well I've just used the remainder of what I had sat in my amazon account (including the 6.99) to get another present out the way so no present for me but I do feel much better for almost having all of the presents bought and wrapped. I need to start building that up again so that I have something in there at all times ready for gifts.

  • It does seem really busy at the moment at the shops and on the roads . I think I'll do as much as I can online too.
