I keep doing this, wishing the next pay day here rather than enjoying the journey and managing the change from one to another.
April next year is my huge month, I keep wanting it to be April!

I'm also hugely guilty of this, but I think it's probably extra hard when you're so close! Our Debt Free Day is likely to be close but then all our goals aren't going to be complete for about 4 years, so I know it's going to be ages and I am trying to focus on the journey. It's been a long blimming journey though so I can't imagine it ever being over!
The notebook is a good idea. Sleep is so important for mental health. I try to avoid being on here close to when I'm due to sleep as it does tend to keep my mind whirring. I read an easy book before bed to shut my mind off. Nothing else really works for me.Make £2025 in 2025 #18 - £569.66/£2025

ladymay I really like the idea of keeping a note pad next to my bed, I think I will start doing that. Whenever I have something going on in my head I always feel better once I have gotten it down on paper, its like writing it down removes it from my mind (sometimes temporary but still worth it).
Both January and May will be huge for me Nicnak, with potentially being debt free in May! I may stretch it out as its all interest free after that period and it will onlybe around 8/900 but I think I will just want to be able to say that I'm debt free. In saying that I might learn how to budget better if I chip away at it each month instead and put some saving habits in to practise, will decide this next year but I just want it to be next year already!
I think it will definitely be a long process for a lot of people here Pauper, a lot of us got in to debt through overspending so its not just beating the debt that we need to achieve, its also retraining our brains to spend differently which is not an easy process at all. My long term goal is to be mortagage free in less than 20 years, I don't even own my own home yet and won't until I have a stable job after completing my degree (probably around 4/5 years), I'm hoping to save as much of a deposit as I can between now and then, the more I can save now the less I have to borrow and pay back.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
January isn't so far away. April feels like a hundred years!
I am enjoying the journey though, I have learned a lot about myself, my connection to spendings, and how I need to change all of those before I can make an impact on my account.
I've also learnt that working full time is not for me anymore, and how much I actually need a month rather than what I thought I did because of the overspend.September 2017 Debt = £25330

Nicnak April will be here before you know it! I haven't worked full time since I had DS and I'm extremely grateful that I haven't had to. I have worked part time along with my studying but I worked around DS being with his Dad so that I didn't miss any time with him.
Have had another lovely weekend, I cherish my weekends, I only have one full day a week with DS now that he's at school and I really hate it, all I can do is make the most of that time.
Nothing to update on the finance front.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
I know, I just shouldn't wish my life away to get there!
It's so hard when you work/they have school/ and you have joint time with his dad as well, which must take away precious time as well. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Yeah try not to wish it away too much, life is short enough as it is without wishing it away.
It really does, half term was really difficult with having to share time with him, I would have loved to have just the whole week with him. I think I may look at changing half terms so that he is with his dad for 2 full days and then me the rest rather than 2 seperate nights that take away a total of 4 days where we can't really do anything too exciting because of either needing to be back in time for drop off or not picking him up until after lunch time.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
Sounds good. It's nice to have time with them.
April isn't too bad in terms of how far away it is, and it will soon be here. I need to enjoy this journey as well though! XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Having a bad day today, went in to uni for a lecture and then for revision afterwards, the lecture was a complete waste of time and the guy I was meant to be revising with didn't go in so I came home early. Couldn't find motivation after a pointless lecture. Wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't have paid £2 for parking, I could have stayed home and potted that money instead.
Because of my morning I am feeling down about other things too, I know it will pass and tomorrow will be more productive but I just want to write today off completely.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0 -
Allow yourself to feel a bit rubbish today - if I'm having a carp day I allow myself until bedtime to wallow. Tomorrow is a new day and I hope you feel better x2019 Aim: Save £10,000
