Anyone been able to contact World of Books?

World of Books sell on Ebay and Amazon, bought a book from them recently which arrived promptly.

But a few days back i received a book i did not order and have not paid for. Not something i would buy and checking the price online it seems they sell it for £5.32 and i have no charges for that amount so 99.999999% sure i didnt buy it accidently either.

Tried emailing them on their sales@ contact with the reference number etc but so far no reply.

Anyone managed to contact them?

Just thought they may like this book back. Maybe it costs too much to get it back?

Book says £30 inside the cover, but they sell it for £5 something.

  • You've done your bit by telling them, so why worry?

Just bought a book off them described as in 'very good' condition - has a broken spine and coffee-stained pages stuck together. I also paid an extra 99p postage for 1st class but it took 6 working days to arrive.

Anyway, I've sent a message outlining my gripes but not received a reply. Looking at their Feedback it seems this is the way they operate. They don't respond to any messages or emails and you have to go through EBay's Resolution process to get a response, so I'll be opening a SNAD.

Not as simple as it should be... I received the email asking the books title. Replied with that.

Got a message today the email was blank. Thats odd because you replied to it and i can read it all. Including their original message and my reply and their message saying it was blank.

So i have replied again.. But that got me wondering, did i mention the book title in the original message i sent them, the answer to that was yes i included the book title in the original email...

Now asking me what the incorrect book was....

Well I did my SNAD this morning and got an instant refund and 'keep the book' message from EBay.

World of Books have just replied to my original email offering me a 20% refund or 'please return the book'............

So at least I can confirm that they do reply to messages (eventually!)

Here we go again... My mistake but...

Ordered a load of books off Amazon, some new and some used. Ordered one and did not realise there were several versions and i had ordered the wrong one.

The seller for that book is World of books. Ordered on Saturday and tried cancelling the order within 20 minutes. Got a reply on Monday saying sorry its too late to cancel.

But they have not posted it yet... What a shambles.

They said when the postman tries to deliver reject it, how do i know whats inside the package when waiting for a load of other books?
    Silly people...

I thought you could cancel any order on amazon automatically within 1/2 hour, isn't that why as a seller orders show as 'pending' for a short time? (not including when the buyer has payment card issues & it can be pending for around a week).
Edit: just checked & it is 30 minutes so I suppose you just missed it by minutes
