  • Has anyone got any suggestions for another provider please?

Localphone was great - but it will not work with IOS 11.

I tried for 2 days with Localphone online Assist with all settings etc using associated Apps (Linphone and zoip - something or other) and nothing worked so I've cancelled the account.

    HELP!!
  • Have you tried 1899.com? You dial a UK number, then the international one. I used it in the past, but not recently.

For years I've used Skype, use it occasionally to phone friends in Spain, although in their case we tend to ring their UK PAYG phone, which seems to keep working for free incoming calls at their end!

For international calling from the UK I use 18185 access number - but with Localphone I had a US number which I could use for US incoming calls or voicemail.

I'm currently in the US and use Skype (or WhatsApp) for outbound calls but Skype want £44/year for a US number compared to Localphone £0.75 per month!

I haven't yet found any suitable alternative and Localphone are saying it could be another month for their App to be IOS 11 compatible :-(

Some VoIP brands have their own applications, some of which are customised versions of other suppliers, and there are some independent applications which can probably be used for most accounts for which you can enter the SIP details.

I don't have an iPhone, so don't know what is available, it can you do a search for VoIP and see what there is?

On Android, I'd be looking at CSipSimple, Linphone, Counterpath/Bria, Nimbuzz, Acrobits, Mizudroid. See if you can find these and look for some reviews.

Note that the app MobileVoip is for use only with Dellmont/Finarea brands, and also appears with some of their brand names

There are also some VoIP apps which don't have the SIP details apparent to the customer, and some of these give free credit by playing video adverts or installing other apps.
