We met with the sales manager today, who got out the 100% official 'it should look like this' plans - and they had a window in. She didn't know why it hasn't been put in, the site manager is on holiday until October 🙄
She said she would speak higher up the boss chain and get back to us.
We have already made selections of about £3500 of extras and upgrades, so maybe they would take care of that cost for us now? It was a huge stretch for us, but as we're hoping for this to be a lifetime home we thought it was a good investment from the start.
    Thanks for your advice.

Yes I don't think we will ask for it to be added, the house is too far along now and it would be a pain and a mess and a delay.
We will certainly make do - and the lighting isn't awful, and like you say, may be a blessing in disguise actually.

Its a bedroom 95%+ of the time you will be in there in the dark or have the window dressings closed.

That is absolutely not the point.

Just be really nice with the builder, saying that you are disappointed, one of the reasons for the choice of house was the additional light it would have given as well as a in hot summers, two windows open could create a nice draught.

Maybe you could ask them to get some upgrades to the remainder of the house as 'compensation'?

It is part of the key to resolution.

It determines the approach taken when you don't really need it.

The builder could just say woops we will fix it and put a window in.

In bedrooms unless massive wall space is at a premium you usually lose part of 2 walls, window/radiator and a door.
