How do you access your bank most often?
With over 750 bank branches being closed this year, the digital revolution is taking over – not just online, but now with a host of app-based banks too. So we wanted to find out how you access your bank and whether it depends on your age.
Please select the way you MOST COMMONLY INTERACT with your bank

Why oh why do the MSE polls only ever allow one answer,0

And what's with the age thing?
I voted as under 25 and I'm far from it! Therefore my vote is invalid and misleading.0 -

They are asking the MOST COMMON way you interact with your bank so that is why it is one answer they require, 99% of people will use one method more than any other.oldagetraveller wrote: »And what's with the age thing?

Well they obviously want to see how different age groups access their bank, I don't see an issue with that.
But I don't see why you felt the need to give an inaccurate response. If you don't agree with the survey then just ignore instead of trying to ruin the results.0 -
I think the results are tied in with your eyesight. . . .
When you are young you can see a small screen on a mobile. As you age your sight fails so you use the web site. When you get too old to see a screen you phone or go into the branch.
Oh how I wish I could use the app)

Nonsense. My eyesight's perfectly good but I prefer to use the website as it's faster, has far more functionality and it's easier to type on a desktop keyboard than a phone.
It's more likely that, these days, there are many younger people who have phones but don't have computers.0 -
Whilst these polls may be accurate, they can be misleading if used to judge how, as in this case, people use various facilities such as their bank account. I use three of the choices given. I mainly use the website because it is more functional than the app and allows you to do more things as well as being easier to use on a pc having a keyboard (my stubby fingers always end up pressing the wrong key on my phone). I also use the app on my phone or ipad and I use the bank from time to time especially if I need to speak to someone. When I use the bank it's nearly always busy both with young and older customers and this might not seem to be the case if looking at the results of this poll where people choose their usual way. To be more meaningful it would be better if participants could choose a second or third choice to show that that method of access is also used.0

The question should be "What is the commonest way you interact with A bank?". Many/most MSE members will have more than one bank account and may use different means to interact with each of them.
I think that may have been the point that ceredigion was trying to make.0 -
Website will win by miles.
You can see why banks are closing branches. Suggest that this poll will be used by the banks as further justification to close branches.0 -
Although I most frequently access via the website on a real computer (once or twice a month) I also pop into the branch for paying in money/cheques (yes, cheques...). Unfortunately splitting the poll into age categories makes it messy, far more useful would be a straight question (maybe choose all you use and rate them 1,2,3 etc) and another question for your age and sex. A further option would be those you NEVER use, for instance not having a smartphone I obviously don't use the app.0
