Hi, I had a very similar experiance, my post is on here as well. Stood our ground refused to pay and called the police and trading standards. They came back round a few times, but think they realised they werent going to get anything and havent been back for a week now. Just stand your ground, you are in the right! These people give the travelling and gypsy community a bad name which is such a shame as some of them are genuine, nice people.

Well done Mrsbudget. Please NEVER buy ANYTHING at the door. If people call and they are abusive SLAM THE DOOR IN THEIR FACE. It's your home and you have a right to feel safe there.

Good Evening all,,just drop by to say,,I have recovered now:D ,,still a little bit paranoid but better..and nothing or nobody at the door since then..kids learned as well, everytime someone knocked the door, right away, they asked who was it..and never opened door by themselves now!!:j

Again, thanks to all of you who gave me courage and knowledge..wisdom i think is the better word....well learned lesson for me!!:wave:
