A lot less than anybody above has posted
*cries*
The last time I paid rent and had an income from a job, it was £300/month after rent/council tax, basic bills and the cost of getting to/from work.
That £300 would have been paying for: food, clothes, doing stuff, buying things, any outings, any going out at all ..... everything.
The least I was living on was £50/month after housing costs/basic bills, about 15 years ago.0 -
Different people have different priorities, different lifestyles and different incomes/ expenditures so I don't think you can compare accurately.
I'm happy with what I have so whether its more or less than others is irrelevant.0 -
Our month ends this Sunday (partner gets paid on Monday then me next Friday)
Currently have £1,530 left, one bill left to pay which comes out tomorrow of £110 then just a bit of food to buy
So aiming to move £1,300 into savings0 -

After all bills, groceries, christmas fund, money for yearly bills etc I have £750 approximately per calendar month. Of that, over £500 goes to savings each month.

It's probably a question of how you define "bills". We are a family of four and probably have £1800 a month left after paying for all bills in relation to housing, health, the cars, Insurances and our food (i.e. for the family to be be fed, dry, warm and mobile).
If you then take off the other costs (Holidays, Kids activities, repairs, days out) we probably have £1K a month left, which goes towards savings.0 -
About £500 a month from our regular income, goes towards savings and the ground rent/expenses for our static caravan.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
