I've changed my mind 5 times.... And I'm going mad. I bought chic shadow for my living room but painted a small area and it turned out way too dark. I have dark laminate going down and intend to buy darker furniture so my dog doesn't get it dirty. Therefor I wanted a light to mid tone grey (but so so light it's an off white grey)

The room has lots of natural light. Trying to avoid greys with tints of blue. I'd prefer a natural grey.

F&B Ammonite, or for a shade more grey, Cornforth White.

    Polished Pebble all day long!

I was in the same situation, chic shadow was too dark Polished Pebble in the living room for us looks Perfect. Its a nice grey, one that is not too dark yet not white.

I would highly recommend Polished Pebble. If you do buy a tester, try paint on a wider surface with light hitting it as you would appreciate the colour more.
  • Shade card?
  • Find something that is what you want and get it matched?

Polished Pebble looked blue in a room I tried it. Grey is one of the most difficult colour to get right and can look totally different in different settings. F&B have some good choices, we have had some matched and mixed at Johnstones paint centre.
We had a beautiful dove grey from the Valspar range called Mink Frost.
  • Dulux Grey Steel 3 - its one of the ones you need to get mixed in store but to me its a true grey. You can go lighter Grey Steel 4 or darker Grey Steel 2 or 1 if you'd prefer
  • We're about to paint our hallway Goose down Matt, will let you know what I think when done.
  • Forget it. I tried EVERY SINGLE "true" gray in the market and all of them have undertones. One will look lavender, one will look blue, one will look green, i even had lovely (not) pink undertones in some!
My advice: buy a paint toner in amazon spain or another country and use it on white paint. It seems like in Britain PURE black colour doesn't exist.

That's not true. I bought exactly that colour for my bathroom. Now have a lovely lavender bathroom.

Must be due to lighting / natural light then as its nothing other than grey in my back room whether in day light or at night.
