Grey paint - recommend one for me

I've changed my mind 5 times.... And I'm going mad. I bought chic shadow for my living room but painted a small area and it turned out way too dark. I have dark laminate going down and intend to buy darker furniture so my dog doesn't get it dirty. Therefor I wanted a light to mid tone grey (but so so light it's an off white grey)
The room has lots of natural light. Trying to avoid greys with tints of blue. I'd prefer a natural grey.

Polished pebble.
I have chic shadow in my hall / stairs. It's nice against white woodwork but I have lighter flooring. In my living room I have polished pebble, same range, just lighter.
You're right, some greys have colour tinges, one looked pinky purple and another a bit green! But I found both the above colours were just grey.
Good luckBossymoo

How light is polished pebble? It was my first choice but in certain photos it looks more like an off white then a grey. In others it looks fine.
I've also looked at goose down in dulux. Certain photos makes it look blueish. Photos really arnt helping me.0 -
Homebase Silver Mist is a nice greyish grey.0

It is a paler grey, but it doesn't look off-White in my living room, having said that, mine is not as well lit as yours sounds. So tricky!Bossymoo

I've used Crown 'Cloudburst' in my lounge - it's a stormy, lilac based grey.0

Can you not just add white paint to lighten up the grey to the colour you want0

Honestly you need to go down to B&Q/Homebase/Wickes/etc and buy all the grey £1 tester pots and do a little patchwork on the walls both the wall with the most light and the wall with the least light.
They all turn out so differently to the colour on the label/tin and especially different to the colour on your screen as there are loads of different screen settings.0 -
Agree you have to try the pots
Charts and on screen are hopeless - even with the pots, you need to slap on a decent size area for a real clue.
We've just gone for Laura Ashley Light Dove Grey for a bedroom/ensuite. There are 4 Dove Grey shades from White/Dove Grey to Dark Dove Grey. My guess would be the 2nd darkest for you - Dove Grey. Its a 'pure' neutral colour though with no hints of anything else and a beige grey (some warmth) rather than a steel grey (cooler).
A bit pricey (we were always bog standard Dulux users) but I was following a recommendation and I am impressed with the finish.0
