Good morning all!!
Hope everyone had a nice weekend.
Mine was as family orientated as can be. Birthday dnner for my cousin on Friday. On Saturday we went to my cousins again and we all made a course each (only is 3 of us) and I made strawberry and chocolate pavlova which turned out great thankfully
Yesterday, as usual, family dinner at my mums which was lovely.
Nonetheless, the alarm went off at 5.30am this morning and it was a struggle to get up. I'll perhaps try for an earlier bed time this week. Been to the gym and I've just arrived at my desk now.
Got my mum house sitting as I'm getting one of those smart meters installed. I've got football tonight too.
Have a nice day everyone

Morning everyone,
Bit later for me today, another rough night and decided to have a lie-in, it's a fast day today so no breakfast to look forward to
The WM is chugging away, the weather is dry at the moment so hope to get stuff out for a couple of hours, need to get out to PAH for Rosie dogs food and some pack up bits as DOH has decided to head to the cricket (county) for the next couple of days. Later the saddler is coming out to measure the lovely Lulu and discuss our options re a saddle, I left her without a rug last night as it was meant to be milder, god knows what a mud monster I will find!
Supper will be salmon and sp mash.
That sounds like a lovely weekend Speky well done on the pavlova, sounds delicious
Have a good day folks x0 -
Morning (((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Another reasonable night, so no feeling so fraught this morning.
Collected the new tablet yesterday and after a false start managed to get it set up. I think I might need an SD card for extra memory, it does not have as much as the Ipad.
Made the decision yesterday that I will only go to the ceremony for my grand daughters wedding, its very obvious that OH is not fit to go and I just cannot leave him for any length of time. He is not going to have a miraculous recovery in 4 weeks.
Bed stripped, washer on not sure if I will get it dry on the line, but will have a good go, its a bit grey right now. Monday clean to do.
Might have egg chips and beans tonight, cannot be bothered to cook anything else.0 -
Good Morning everyone and a bit overcast but dry at the moment. I did a small wash last night in the machine so I am hoping I can get it on the line today, even damp dry would be OK as I can finish it off on the airer in the conservatory.
My sis-in law gave me a bag of rhubarb which I have stewed with cinnamon and honey and its delicious.
I have been hunting out some jam jars for her as some one has given her a big bag of green tomatoes and she is making some chutney (she had given her spare jars away earlier this year as she hadn't bothered to grow her own tomatoes this year ):) isn't it always the way.
Luckily I have a stash she is welcome to at the back of the cupboard and she will pick them up on Wednesday.
Just phoned the dentist for an appointment for Mikey,he broke his tooth over the weekend and needs it sorted asap as he can't eat anything but soft food Luckily I managed to get him one just after lunch,I do have a brilliant dentists surgery and they will always do their best to fit you it if possible.
No shopping for me today I will have a root around the freezer shortly and find something for tonight's dinner
Hope everyone has a good Monday and the sun shines down on your washing (and mine as well hopefully )
Cheers chums

Csarina, I'm so sorry your having such a difficult time at the moment. I hope you get some movement from the neurologist this week.
Lainey - that sounds expensive!
It's DS and DiL's first anniversary today, wonderful memories of a perfect day. They are back in Italy for 10 days to celebrate, they walked the path of the gods on the Amalfi coast yesterday (including walking up to it from the sea, mad people).
I had several conversations with DD yesterday about Ziggy pup because they are having their garden landscaped (partly to make it more dog friendly). Being a terrace the only access is through the house so it will cause major disruption and possibly danger to Ziggy. As a result she'll probably be coming to us for a couple of weeks, either later this week or early next.
I need to go out to at least get bread and milk this morning. I need to meal plan from the freezer which is getting rather full again.0 -
Had a visitor earlier. A school friend i am in contact with on Facebook came to see me. His Mother died this morning. He's lived a very sheltered life, still single, still living at home with Mom and Dad, physical health issues which has prevented him from working. His Mom chose his clothes, cooked his meals, washed his clothes up until just a few months ago when she was diagnosed with dementia and was taken into hospital. Ive seen a general decline in him since she has been taken ill and i'm wondering how he and his Dad will cope now she has gone.
She and my Mom were close, they were an unlikely pair and me and my friend grew up together.

I reckon we should all of us trundle over to Speky's place for a meal... :rotfl:
Interesting time at @ldi this morning; Mr LW decided he wanted to buy some bottles of Pinot Grigio (our usual drink if we have wine of an evening) and I also wanted a bottle of Vino Collapso for cooking with.
So into the basket went 3 x Pinot G (£3.89 each) and one bottle of Baron St Jean (£3.19). Went through the checkout; I can't see well from the wheelchair, but it looked like the girl put one bottle through the scanner and lifted the other three through unscanned (ie did a "x 4") so I said "You did see one of those is different from the rest?" She replied that she did.
I just didn't feel right about it so when we got to the car, I looked at the receipt - sure enough, 4 x Pinot G on there. I told Mr LW we'd been overcharged - he said "Oh, are we going back in, then?" :wall:Like I'd let that go!!
Finally got to see a manager, explained what had happened, and he said "We'll refund you for one bottle of Pinot Grigio, and because you've had to come back, you can keep the Baron St Jean for free". :T So good for @ldi - they get to keep a customer!
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Good for Ald* - Lamewolf.
My morning has been interesting in a different kind of way. Went into college to find the network was down - no shared drive, no internet and no printing. Someone somewhere hit it all with a hammer and most things came back on but I had to leave.
Took some recycling to the tip as the bag was overflowing. Then went to the local museum for a bowl of soup, not really my usual fare but I enjoyed it. Home via the drainage bloke to say thanks for sorting things out.
I had put a wash load in the machine before I went out so it's now all hanging out in the last of the weak sunshine. Now got to sort some stuff out for tomorrow.
The cleaner has been :j and everything is clean though she does move things around in the kitchen and obviously doesn't like where I put my living room rugs!
Now time for a cuppa and some work.0 -
Afternoon all.
Well we have bought our new computers . Mr Fix It has brought his home and is trying to set it up but I had to order mine and it will be delivered some time tomorrow
.
We called in L*dl for bread on the way home and just as we came out of the shop, the heavens opened. Now the sun is back out, but for how long is anyone's guess, so I'm in two minds whether to put some washing out or not :undecided. ( Probably not chance it )
Elderly neighbour's walk in shower installation is still ongoing, with much hammering etc and she has just phoned again to apologise for the noise, but I explained that the apology wasn't necessary. She seems quite "with it" today although she bemoaned the loss of her old blue flowery tiles ( probably from the 60's/70's ) and they are being replaced with plain white ones.
Anyway, tea tonight will be liver ragout and rice, both of which I found in the freezer. I am trying to work my way through the chest freezer so that I can defrost it time for some Christmas goodies
.
This afternoon I am going to make some dairy free lemon curd muffins and try to keep out of Mr Fix It's way, whilst he mutters at his new computer :rotfl:.
Right I'd better shift myself and do some baking.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Take care and hugs to all.
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
