Hello, don't really know how to use this but would like to ask a question.
I was given a parking notice on a a disabled car in a estate. I didnt realise the sign was in front of me because I was to busy helping my Nan out the car. I've been told to pay £60 or appeal. What shall I do ? Should I just pay it because the photos do have the parking sign in front of the car where they took photos .
Where do I find the newbie thread to help with my queries ?0 -

Hello,
We are in a similar situation (same place) as described by McMahon. The only difference is that I, the registered keeper, passed the information on to the driver concerned. He made representation which was declined and his details have been ignored by MET parking services. They continue to write to me, the registered keeper demanding payment of £100.00 . We are at "final reminder" stage. Please advise as to where to go from here. (The driver is no longer with us).
Thank you,0 -
If you mean the driver has died, write to MET - with a copy of the appeal the driver sent, and the rejection - and confirm that this named person was indeed the driver, but has sadly died (enclose a copy of the death cert).
As such, you have discharged any possible liability, the driver's name and address was already known to MET in 2017, and they must cancel this charge or you will complain to Mr Clark at the BPA about MET, and to your MP, who is taking a keen interest in the current Parliamentary Bill and constituents' problems with rogue parking companies.
Just say it...never mind if you even know what your MP thinks!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sorry, when I said that the driver is no longer with us, I meant He no longer woks for us.
He has since retired and emigrated to Portugal, I do not have a forwarding address.
And I don't have a copy of his original appeal that he sent to MET only the rejection notice and subsequent demands for payment all addressed to me the registered keeper.
Any advise would be apriciated.
Thanks..0 -
Do what you can to determine his Portugal address, then send MET a notification that the driver of the vehicle at the time was xxxxx and his address for service is this xxxx, Portugal.
Please ensure that no further correspondence is addressed to me, the registered keeper, other than confirmation that you will no longer be pursuing this charge against me. Failure to comply with the above will force me to complain to the BPA and DVLA, and take note that I will issue court proceedings for harassment in the event of further unwanted and unjustified communications from you.
Cease and desist (aka - FOAD)!Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Hi, I can’t find the draft letter to send to MET, can u post a link please?0
-
If I could see how, I would. New user, read pages on Newbie thread but can’t see how, maybe because I’m using a phone?
As for “What draft letter”, it says above in McMahon’s post that they used a one on initial appeal. I can find loads of links for the POPLA letter but none for initial appeal0 -
Front page of the parking sub-forum (the one you are on now) scroll down a couple of posts to the NEWBIE sticky - read this first - and erm, read this first. In there you will find a BLUE template for the initial appeal0
