Aww Toto, but I guess it's a type of RSI for your profession. Have they offered cortisone injections?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hello everyone:hello:
Well, what a day it's been!!!! 35% of students failed their exam last week so we're trying to organise meetings to counsel them.
IA - your poor car! The argos job might come in very handy to help pay for repairs (but I hope that you get to use the money exactly how you want to)!
Toto - I'm really sorry to hear about your tendonitis. Mum had 'trigger finger' and had that operated on. She's such a freak that she insisted on watching the surgeon and asking questions. She took great delight in talking us through it step by step over dinner that night (around the time I turned vegetarian)!
My boss has given me a tape to do (about 4 hours work) and there's more to come, but I decided to get online for a bit before I start. Hope everyone has a nice evening!

Hmmm, UEFA cup draw has been made. Everton play Nuremburg and I can get return flights for £90. No, no, no!!! I'll just have to make do with the telly.0

Good luck with the interview KF.
So much for my mystery shop. Got half way there and found a car on it's side with an old woman in it. Had to stop and call for police and ambulance then wait until they told me I could go. So no mystery shop money for me today. But the important thing is that the woman was ok.Reality check - hit rock bottom on 15 Dec 2008 with unsecured debts of £29,136 and not enough money to live on
:j NOW DEBT FREE!!!! :j
I try to take life one day at a time but sometimes several days attack me at once

Gosh Muppeteer, what a horrible thing to see, hope you're okay. Glad the woman was okay too.
Kath, best of luck with your interview!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
I just can't imagine not working, it's all I've ever done.
Stop panicking.Even teaching will be hard if I can't show the students how to do it.
This is not going to cripple you because you caught it early.
Try and think of it this way:
You have a certain endurance, just like a spring has a certain stretch. If you go beyond that endurance, you start damaging yourself, just like stretching a spring a little too much so it doesn't go back to its proper shape.
Over the years you have been damaging yourself, and finally the damage has reached the stage where it's starting to hurt - just like a spring that actually looks stretched.
You still have the ability to play without making things worse, but for nowhere near the length of time you used to - just like a stretched spring still has a bit of springiness to it. Your friends who had to give playing up, left it too long to deal with it - your body will patiently hint for years you're overdoing things, but it does have the ability to insist. You don't want it to insist - believe me.
After an appropiate amount of rest and treatment, you will be able to teach and drum for short periods of time. But there will be limits and you don't want to go anywhere near them. Because if you do, your next damage-free period will be permanently shorter. You will have to get over the mind-set of "I can endure it" because that brings you closer to the time when your body insists you stop. You really don't want that.
Also - there are other things you can do other than your drumming, so it's not like you're not going to be working.
Well done on going. :kisses3:"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

"Blowing your mind, 'cause you know what you'll find, when you're looking for things in the sky." OMD 'Julia's Song'0 -
Why does the doctor think the other one will start? Seems a bit of a negative statement really.
Because your body is fairly symmetrically made, so if one side wears out, the other is not that far behind - in a similar sort of way that you never need just one tyre.
Also you tend to compensate for weakness and overstrain the working side."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Have just spent 2 hours cleaning up the mess from Max & Paddy the double glazers (actually not too bad, think they've even vacced the bathroom carpet!)
This is what they've been replacing - 1930's windows c/w rotting frames on the sea-facing back of the house......
old bedroom window:
New bedroom window:
Only drawback is that with it being a 1930's house, it has lots of lovely original moulded skirting boards & doors - which are a total dust-trap! Hey-ho, at least I'll be able to clean the windows & get a window cleaner for outside without fear of them falling out!
