Ccj
Hi
Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section.
I received a CCJ order in my name at my parents address (this was the address I used when appealing to The car parking company).
Anyway the letter was received later than the date advised and 14 days has passed.
Can I still request an extension to 28 days?
Also does it make a difference that they have written to my parents address where I am not registered?
Getting rather nervous so would appreciate some help please.
Regards
MK

I would suggest if you gave your parents address it's reasonable for them to contact you there.
Have a read of https://www.trustonline.org.uk/understand-judgments-fines/ccjs-and-county-courts/ccjs-what-are-they0 -
They wrote to the address you gave them. They are not psychic. They are not at fault, you have no defence or reason to get an extension. Should have picked up your post more regularly. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Ok, thanks for the replies.
so is that it now?
Can I not submit a defence?
Is it pay or do I have any recourse?0 -
Have you read the info on the link I posted?0
-
If you have received a ccj then you have a month to pay it off in full to prevent it remaining on the register for 6 years.
But if this is a court claim you have ignored try submitting your defence now in the hope that the claimant has not already applied for judgement in default against you.0 -
Thanks Quentin,
Anywhere I can get help with the defence?
Sorry I'm an absolute novice
Any links or advice would be great0 -
Yes.
Go to the parking fines sub board and read the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum. Lots of help on court action there0 -
Thanks,
Final query as I'm not registered at my parents place, can I not just ignore it?0 -
If you ignore it, isn't there a danger it will affect your parents' credit rating? You gave their address after all.
Doesn't that concern you?0 -
Of course it concerns me but isn't the judgement under my name?
I'd rather pay if it's going to affect my parents in any way.
Would love to get a defence together but think I've left it too late.0
