Ditching Sky HD

I'm thinking of ditching my Sky HD pack at some point. It's currently billed at £12 per month. I see new customers can only have HD with the box office bundle. I'm currently in a discounted period until Oct and 12 month contract until Dec. I will try and get another discount period but I wondered what might be the best tactic with regards to the HD pack. Should I ditch before requesting the discount or make it part of the negotiation?
I have the Original bundle and the Sports Pack.
Anyone's thoughts would be most welcome.
