dont these things always come when you just dont need them??

Deep breath ...
Pepipoo are fantastic.
Also, if you send the form back within the 28 days and ask for the evidence, the clock starts ticking again, so you get another 28 days. They should just send you a photo which may or may not make clear who's driving. You don't even have to say you're not sure who's driving!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
just point to note..
if you dont send the form back with any name on it, you can be found guilty of a S172 failure to disclose.
You can read up on the forum, then decided what to do.. ie.. Pay up, or fight it for evidence etc.
You have 28 days to reply, so i would send the item back at day 24 etc recorded delivery etc. That way you have enough time to sort yourself out.0 -
I had the same problem - got caught speeding and hadn't changed the details on my licence to my new name and address. I admitted the the speeding (was me and I knew it...), filled in the form, and then they asked for my licence and cheque. They sent it back with a nice letter saying that if the details have changed permanently then I need to inform the DVLA or risk a fine.
I then changed the info at the DVLA (which is FREE if you have changed your name) and got a pretty new photo licence instead of the tatty bit of paper. Your new passport is all that is needed to confirm your new name so don't worry about the wedding certificate.Sealed Pot Challenge Member Number #19060 -
a similar thing happened to my other half, he only found out about the fine a few days before it had to be paid as he hadn't changed the address on his vehicle reg so the fine went to his last address ie his dads - who was away for 3 weeks! He also hadn't changed the address on his licence which he had also lost (he's not the most organised person in the world!)
His letter did have a phone number on it though so he rang to tell them he had to wait for a replacement licence and they just extended the time period.
Even though you don't have to pay to change the address or name you do have to pay if you have lost the licence or even if you have lost part of it (he had the photo bit but not the paper bit).0 -
just to let you know
mr divadee got done last week and we called up to see how much extra on insurance and it will go up by £30 a year.
Everyone was telling me that it made no difference to them but i have also done some new quotes with the points and they are all coming up 20-30 more than without the 3 points.
never been done before or anything.0 -
I meant to say last night that Direct Line definitely up the premium for your first 3 points ... so do tell your insurer!Signature removed for peace of mind0

so do churchills and prudential and a few others.
also if you dot tell them and then you claim, they may refuse to payout as you didnt tell them. they will try and get our of paying anyway possible!!!0 -
You don't have to actually change your name when you marry, it's a tradition not a Law. So that's OK, other advice on this thread is correct too. Apply for a replacement license using the number you have been given as soon as you can, send of the form for the speeding thing same time, then when they ask for you license write to them and say it's at DVLA, they will then tell you to contact them after it comes back. My mate did this and they actually had lost the paperwork by the time it all got sorted so he missed the penalty and the points, I hope your lot are as incompetent in this case. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head.
