help-feel sick-speeding fine and cant find licence-plus it gets worse!!

help i feel sick, just got back from hols a supposedly cheap £9.50 sun hols in prestatyn and whilst i was there i got a speeding fine for doing 35 in a 30limit
i hold my hands up and accept the fine even though it couldnt come at a worse time as my hubbys on strike from post office at the minute and we are so skint
but the problem is i cant find my licence anywhere plus its still in my old address and my maiden name
plus the fines dated 26th sept and has to be sent back in 28 days basically what the hell can i do??
also if you change a name do you have to send youre marriage cert? as i got married abroad and its in spanish (plus im not sure where this is either) i know i am hopeless and unorganised
on the web site it says something about passport identity, my passport has been updated to my new details , so i still have to send my wedding cert?
plus how the heck am i gonna do it in the time left available, and what happens if i dont????

Hiya- just to let you know that a similar thing happened to me for driving at 36mph in a 30 mile zone. Acknowledge the form as soon as you can because they may offer you a workshop which means you go on a 2.5 hrs. training workshop. Although you have to pay for this(£72) it is best to keep your licence clean. Asd you received the notification Ok, they obviously have your details. Keep calm and reply to it and see what happens. Keep a note of the number for future reference in case you need to phone them once the form is sent off.

its just that its asking me for my driver number but i dont know it as i cant find the licence
gosh this is a lesson to me to get more organised!
plus how do i change the name without my wedding cert?
will they accept my passport?

they wont take me to court if i cant get it all changed and sorted in two weeks, i got married in the Dominic republic ??
will i go to jail? (ive got two kids)will i lose my job?

As to license etc, you have 28 days to get things sent off. Just fill it out as of change of name, sent it away and it shall return to yourself. Obviously your V5 is correct as the speeding ticket has found you. Im unsure if special delivery is affected with the strikes, best to ask your other half.

But the speeding thing is 3pts, £60 fine. Should not affect your insurance, no jail prision, etc, but you shall have to declare it for many years to come.

I would look at the forum before filling any forms in and sending it off. You can ask for evidence that it was you etc, so take a look.

You won't be going to jail or lose your job - honest! Even Jeremy Clarkson's mother has been done for speeding...lol. (allegedly - he mentioned it on Top Gear)
Is there an email address to contact them asap? Failing that there will be telephone number on it I'm sure to ring them tomorrow. Ask them what would be the best way of handling this.

Once you've got the points on your licence, do let your insurers know too... but when I renewed my car insurance (with DH as named driver with 3 points for speeding) it made no difference as so many people now have 3 points.

Sometimes these people send these forms out, without actually have the right evidence for the offense. They send them on the off chance that you reply to the letter that 'it must of been me'.

Don't worry about your name. I got 3 points and I took in my license which was in my maiden name and old address and they were not bothered and, that was 4 years after I got married. 7 years later its still in my maiden name, whoops! and I am so organized with all other paper work.

Getting your driver number is easy, you just have to ring the DVLA and give them your details. I needed my licence for a producer but ir had been stolen just the week before the very nice policeman that gave me the producer gave me the tip too!

thanks for all your help everyone, the problem is i have lost the licence and the form says i need the driver number, plus theres no phone number or email address on the form
it was on the A548 oakenholt road
so many people have said that its well known , but i wish someone had told me before, we have been skint for ages with this strike business and though we would treat the kids to a hol for £9.50, we didnt do much whilst we were there as we had no money but it was nice to get away, but beginning to wish we hadnt bothered now!

Must stress again, take a look and post up in the forum for advise, explain that you are new, and ask for advise.

They will advise you on what to do etc, and there are police officers on the site so watch what you say in a weird kinda way.

really ???? that would be a bit of a life saver!!will they just give the number over the phone i could at least send the form back then and then get the ball rolling re the other replacement stuff (more cost) its something ive been meaning to do for ages get a replacement but when moneys so tight other things like food take priority
do i just ring with the details? or do you need a crime no if yours was stolen??
