DRP = a big fat so what, really?!

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5035663

    No ringing them.

    No paying them.

No taking DRP or 'Zenith' letter chains seriously.

Google them (and I don't mean to read DRP's own website...as one poster once did, LOL!).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Thanks people, as a first time getting these kinds of letters they do seem to be "scary" but going off your advice and some research you'd be right in what your saying.

    Many thanks!

its either pay up , in full , or fight back

there is no "middle ground" , but you are on that middle ground at the moment , in no mans land , with neither side giving in

so they are sending smoke signals in your direction, with half truths and template letetrs designed to invoke panic in a recipient who isnt up to speed on the topic

they cannot come round , or send the boys round , or do anything OTHER than send out a letter demanding money with thinly veiled menaces

they cannot kidnap your children or pets
they wont bang on your door
they wont send the boys round
the ground wont open up and swallow you

its only a parking ticket, not operation yew tree

the ones you see on the telly have had a court order issued against them and usually its been raised to the high court because its over £600

so no court order, no action taken , hence the letters from DRP and all their other names

EXCEL passed it to DRP on a no win , no fee basis , hence the extra £60 added on as fees

we have no idea what you think DRP are going to do , or can do, seeing as all they can actually do is send a letter like the one you received and keep doing it for 6 years , until the statute runs out for civil court

IGNORE and get on with christmas

and IGNORE all the follow ups, unless its from an actual solicitor like B W LEGAL, or if it is from EXCEL themselves, or if its an MCOL (court papers) from Northampton CCBC

    More detail required.

Have you received a Claim Form or a Default Judgment?

Either way, neither of those demand money.

    Its a claim form.

When i say demand i meant Excel have now taken the next step and taking action.

The letter gives 14 days to respond with the options of admitting/declining the claim and if declining to provide a defending statement etc.

Yes, you have fourteen days from service of the Claim Form to respond.

The date of Service of the Claim Form is five days after the Date of Issue on the Claim Form.

Your response should be to Acknowledge Service of the Claim which will buy you an extra fourteen days to prepare your Defence.

Everything you need to know about how to proceed, including how to do the Acknowledgement of Service, is fully described in post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread.

What is the Date of Issue on your Claim Form?

Put nothing in the Defence box at this stage - you will develop your defence in the additional time provided by you Acknowledging Service right now.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

All steps to take after getting a court claim are set out in detail in the Newbies FAQ thread #2.

Do spend time studying there, and construct your defence
