I have bought a ticket from a consolidator. The price was £340 which breaks down to taxes £367 and fare £-27. Yes, I appear to get paid for my flight.
I have read in the past that even if a flight is non refundable I am able to reclaim the tax. So in this situation, if I cancel the ticket, can I reclaim the taxes of £367? Thereby making a grand profit of £27.

No, you'll only be able to claim air passenger duty. The amount will be between £13 and £73 depending on the distance. The agent can deduct a service fee from any refund.
  • Many thanks for this @IAmWales.
I guess I will not be making £27 after all :>)
