Yet do remember this is "MoneySavingExpert.com" not "Best Quality Plasma.com" here the focus is always on price; that's the site's reason d'etre. I don't say its the only consideration - but other sites do technical reviews very well - that's not what this site is about

And I agree that this site is focused on price. But it is also focused on being a smart consumer, and I am just saying that buying the cheapest TV of a certain size is not always going to be the smartest choice or the best value for money. For some people it might make sense to determine which TVs reach an acceptable level of quality and then focus on finding which one they can buy cheapest.
Don't get me wrong, I am not saying it is wrong to run this thread. I am just reminding people not to get carried away.koru0 -
RE: ELonex warranty - just got this from someone based at the UK ELonex office, seems to settle things and indicate it's a 1 year warranty from Ebuyer alone on the ELonex LNXF3-37 HD Ready TV
Hi Jon,
Warranty is supplied for one year but is covered by ebuyer.
We have a support line to assist should you need any help – 0871 222 3456.
Best regards

Subject: Warranty
Hi,
I have purchased an ELonex based system from the ebuyer.com site and would like to confirm the warranty details. The system model is ELonex LNXF3-37 HD Ready TV
Please can you supply details of the Warranty cover and how to register the product?
Thanks in advance
Jon

This seems to have been posted in the wrong forum - everybody jumps over everybody who posts something in the wrong place.
We all know what the rules are! Shouldn't this be on the grabbit board.?
hmm... intriguing.0 -
If I'm in the wrong place,?, apologies, was just responding on a finer point to the starting thread Gigantic 37" LCD HD Ready TV £375 all-in. Can you beat it? - as there's been a bit of confusion on the ebuyer site about warranty details for one of the TV's mentioned -
Ebuyer: £375 delivered. Ebuyer has an ELonex LNXF3-37 720p/1080i HD Ready TV available with five day delivery included. It has a 1200:1 image contrast and comes with a HDMI port. At the moment there are 50 in stock.
UPDATE: 10 October 14.00. eBuyer has advised if the TV sells out you should still be able to pre-order a tele for when they come back in the stock next week.
Please feel free to move/delete the post!0 -

Hi All,
Ordered one on the Wednesday, here on Friday and be warned, it is very big. I did try to figure out the screen size before but it looks huge in our living room. Early signs are very good, quality is better than I was expecting, weill see how it copes with the football later on. It is easy to set up, and the kids love it. Did we need it this big, no. We are thinking of sending it back but instead we will try and make our TV stand smaller so it fits. Have to say no problems with Ebuyer, delivered it when they said and they are the place I go first when looking at electronics. I haven't set up the HD option, in fact not sure how to do this.0 -
This is upto 1080i, so won't support 1080p, but as was said above, you will never be able to tell them apart unless you have a TV bigger than 50".
)
I saw this a number of times in this thread and thought id just mention that if you own PS3 or xbox 360 Elite then it is worth going for 1080p .. but that's about the only reason. You will see a difference between interlaced (1080i) and progressive (1080p) especially as time goes by in game software development and quality increases.0 -
Anyone had much luck ordering the TV from ebuyer. I made a pre-order last thursday 11/10 as they said there were 300 coming in. Got a few emails saying different things so I phoned today and was told the TV was discontinued and my order was cancelled. Still saying 60+ in stock on their site so I tried placing another order again.0

Be very wary of buying online where they dont have shops-WebElectricals are no longer trading, for example this was a very big internet dealer.
a lot of them are not even registered companys.
i wouldnt buy online, unless its, say Comet, John Lewis, Currys etc who have shops, and are registered companies0
