hi all, this is my very first time here, it took a while for me to make a start at reclaiming unfair bank charges but they really have pushed me too far now..
i have just come in to a pretty rough patch at the mo, too many bills not enough money, you know how it is.. anyway, it started with 1 missed direct debit, then a fine, which took me below what i need for the next direct debit , then of course fined again, missed next direct debit and so on...it seems like they hit you again and again while you are down..
i have sent off the first letter asking for the last 6yrs statements, but i think i sent to the wrong place. its for the halifax but i sent to

LS1 1WU.. i think that is wrong, but would the halifax still get it?... if not, i will send another copy to the right place..like i said, i am very new to this and it will take me a while to find my way around...any help please?

Hi again arthurdick,
Have you tried to cancel your DD's and ask the companies to send you a monthly bill so you can pay them at the bank, I know that its time consuming, but it will mean that you wont get any more charges from the bank for not having enough money to pay them in the first place.
Again hope this helps

hi sparky, thanx m8....i will have a look at that addresses page... also thanx for the advice about stopping all, well some of my dd's and paying monthly in the bank... i had thought of this, at sometime, but it is only a temporary bad patch(hopefully)..anyway, i have just been on the halifax on-line site, and applied for an increased O/D again.. it dont hurt to ask....they had 1 box asking what the reason for the request was.. i put "to stop getting unfair fines from you"...ha ha ok that might not work, but it is how i am feeling to them now......anyway sparky, thanx again, i will keep you and everybody updated, as soon as i find my way about in here.....cheersCorduroy pillows are making headlines! Arthur....why dont you go online and cancel the DD,s inform the companies that receive them and tell them why you have had to cancel...also as you are online banking...why not instead do a transfer, this appears on statement as a standing Order, you can then keep track of what and who you have paid, yes you can file online a claim using MCOL but remember, there are fees to be paid upfront as with any claim whether you do it online or at a county court.0
