Happy New Year all! I have emerged, still a little tired and jaded, but otherwise just about intact, from my head-enforced hibernation.
I returned to work yesterday, on a phased return. GP has specified not driving long distances due to medical condition, meaning the travel element of this new position is temporarily suspended.
Had to inform DVLA of condition, so waiting to hear back whether I can continue to drive at all.
Kitty has just turned 18 at the weekend, we had a celebratory birthday meal of sushi (her favourite) and I made a most unhealthy gooey chocolate cake. It was my take on this:

I think there's enough calories to keep us going for a month there! Christmas and birthday have just about done me in terms of money, but I've enough just to keep us afloat throughout January (particularly if we live on stew and pasta!)
Hope all are well, thanks for dropping by while I've been a bit absent. Screens have not been helping with my ills!

Hope things start to improve for you T&K and that you don't have to give up driving altogether.
Belated Happy Birthday to Kitty!
I think you can't go far wrong with stew and pasta to be honest. Good wholesome food (use wholemeal pasta) that can be flavoured so many different ways, while being cheap and easy to cook. Enjoy!I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I have a question for the survey-doers out there. I joined prolific academic a couple of months ago. I have not had a single survey which I am eligible for yet. There are more "fill in these questions so we can make sure you get surveys" questions every time I log in.
Does anyone have any luck actually getting any of their surveys?#Frugal February : NSDs Target =16

When I first joined PA I didn't do any of the of the qualification questions and got tons of surveys, over time I completed them and seemed to get less and less surveys.
Nowadays I don't get a chance to check the site while at work and by the evenings there are often no surveys.
The surveys are from academics and are usually posted in the day time (not everyone can check at work) and also have a limited number of participants - some as low as 10, I have seen one which was over 1000 but that is quite rare. You can imagine with all the people signed up that the surveys will be filled pretty quickly.0 -
I hope you are managing well with your ills. Sometimes it feels as though it is one thing after another.
Now I really fancy stew and dumpling for tea. Last night I put a chicken pie and jacket potatoes in th oven before I went for a shower and hairwash etc. Somehow I managed to fall asleep and rescued the food two hours later! Now I know charcoal is good for you but there are limits.
Did your daughter enjoy her birthday? It seems such a milestone doesn't it?
And how are you getting on with the life coaching activities?
Have a great weekend, take care
