Hi Guys,
I read a post where it said there is a few ways to track a mobile phone without them knowing. I'm not joking about this but today I was duped out of £2,000. I feel like I'm being strung along by the police by being passed on to action fraud. I really need to know where this guy is. I am disabled so I can't do anything stupid. The sick thing is.....this person knew my motivation, I paid him so I could see something other than from my bed before it's too late. It's totally evil behaviour on his part. He got my trust and now I feel so stupid. I'm not stupid but I was totally taken in by him.
It looks like he's using an iPhone on T mobile but that's as far as I've got. His phone does seem locked down because his whatsapp isn't pinging and I can only send SMS even tho I have an iPhone too.
Please help me. I just feel so powerless. The bank has already told me this money has been moved from the bank account I paid into and fast. I'm guessing that his number won't be available soon either.
Thanks again
Emma 😭

Action Fraud is an arm of the City of London Police. DO talk to them immediately.0

Thanks Ian. I've already done that but it seems they only have limited resources and may or may not pursue a criminal. I mean. He's a criminal. He has a name, a bank account and with that bank account comes an addresss.....just go get him!!! I feel left hung to dry and can't even look at myself.

The only people that can help you is the police and bank.
He may have just had a payg sim in the phone and turned it off and binned the sim so there would be no way you could trace it.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.

I don't understand what you paid him for. Can you elaborate.0

How did you pay this money? Was it by credit card - because if it was you may be able to recover it from them.0

You can’t trace a phone number, the police can obtain the details from the networks if they deem it necessary. As you haven’t given any actual detail on what happened (and how) it’s almost impossible to give any sort of specific comment or advice.====0 -
I suppose I was skating around it because I feel like a complete idiot. It was a depositi for a van. We spoke at length on the phone about how he was looking after his disabled mum and how I was disabled too.
It was a good price. Was part checked by gumtree using HPI on the advert and I paid for a full HPI check which came back good too. But it needed more information such as the vans' vin number and v5 number. That was going to be done before we gave the rest of the money over - another £2k when we went to get the van.
It was a private sale so I had to do it via bacs as he didn't have any payment module setup like a business would.
Now I've worked out on my own that this scum is in Northern Ireland with no expertise whatsoever. I feel like I've already been shelved by the police. Why do we have to protect criminals? I want to know who he is and where he lives. I have a mobile number that's on whatsapp too but is now switched off. I have his account details and name.
I just want to know exactly where he is. I want him to see the face of the cripple he has stolen from. I want him to see his crime. :,(0 -
Unfortunately the police don't devote their time to investigating crimes unless there is glory in it for themselves. Crimes have to be headline-grabbing (like the Mccann disappearance - milions spent over several years with zero results) or something they are forced to deal with. Cameras deal with speed issues so police can ignore dangerous driving. Victim support is pushed on people rather than chasing criminals. People without car insurance and road tax and illegal immigrants find that any potential (and unlikely) penalties are greatly outweighed by the rewards and con-men must laugh because they know the police will usually do absolutely nothing.0

Did you not see the ebay scammers program on ITV last week?
Seems a carbon copy...0
