Do you suggest using both malwarebytes and ADW?

^^ Absoultely i do.
Malwarebytes removes the malware/pups and ADW removes any registry keys and scheduled tasks etc

Agree, ditch AVG and don't panic about an anti-virus until its working again (you'll have Windows anti-virus and when all sorted you can install somthing like Bitdefender.)

Do I understand it that Bitdefender is not free

Is ADW Clearer Free?

Bitdefender offer a free version - use that - it's great

I have used the AVG removal tool & restarted & it says removal successful only thing is messages still keep coming up saying AVG definitions out of date.
On entering control panel under programs AVG protection is there I highlighted and clicked Uninstall and a memessage said "Unexpected Error" we have run into a problem.
How can I get rid?
I have downloaded an run ADW and it has cleaned although it said no threats and restarted.
I can now access Word & Excel and typed a word into word and now printed on the printer.
So some thing do now seem better.
What now?

Try revo uninstaller (free version)

If that doesnt get it, start in safe mode, and try the avg removal tool again.

While I'm sure revo will work I dont' see a specific link to AVG removal tool. Its here if needed

This will download it directly. After downloading right-click it and Run as adminsitator

ardvaark, you have not mentioned downloading and running Malware bytes yet?
If just that you haven't mentioned it fine, what were the results? If not run it first!!
