Whatever you do don't buy this phone from Vodafone. I have responsibility for 400 Windows Mobile devices at work and Vodafone's support has been lacking. The predesessor to this device, the v1605 has been upgraded to Windows Mobile 6 by HTC but Vodafone are refusing to release a WM6 ROM, instead trying to make us buy the new 1615 to get the features we need - leaving us with 250 odd 11 month old devices that soon will not meet our needs.
If you can, get the HTC branded device!0 -
If your struggling for ideas on what to do with all your 1605's you can send one my way!!!!!!0

Lol how can you justify getting it pay as you go for £600 or something from expansys, then getting a sim contract from somewhere? Thats crazy! This phone is made for contracts.... In all honesty, as boatman said, I'll happily take your 1605's.
If you look online anyway you can find firmware flashes to stick on WM6[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Hi MercilessKiller, whilst I agree that paying 600 is silly I still stand by my comment re buying it from Vodafone. As for the WM6 ROMS that are avaliable online unfortunatly working for a goverment agency (or I would guess any business) means that option is not avaliable to us as it is illegal!0

I didnt think flashing the firmware on the phone was illegal at all? Sorry if it is though I don't really know I suppose.
Anyway if the upgrade to WM6 is the only reason, then for me, that's not a problem and I'd still go with them. I mean does WM5 suit your purposes? What improvements to your business would WM6 make? etc etc... Is thta phone fit for purpose under vodafone?
I'll be evaluating other contracts including value and costs... But i've been with voda for 17 months and so far every problem has been sorted out very quickly by a helpful support team there I may be able to get discounts too so i hope![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

I actually have had my Vario 3 for a week now :D:D and it is an absolutely awesome phone, does virtually everything and you will not be disappointed!!!!
HTC have really improved the camera, there is shedloads of memory, ROM and RAM, the WM6 interface takes a little getting use to, but a lot of it is the same as WM5.0
