Went shopping in Aldi today. They had 2 of the Slim Free ready meals, but I was afraid to buy them. What's everyone's opinion on them, free or not? I wish slimming world would just tell us already!

Not feeling great today so didn't bother with breakfast :o Made garlic bread for lunch using the Schar white ciabatta and garlic frylight. It was okay but I don't understand why people are raving about it online. Certainly nothing like proper garlic bread.

Hang on will get you what my consultant said

    Good effort, dawyldthing and tweets.

kathrynha, WOW! That’s amazing! You must feel great when your success laid out like that. I don’t use syns on alcohol either (except in cooking sometimes)!

I got my slow cooker for about £12 in Tesco some years ago, beanie. It makes enough that I can freeze portions for later. Just checked and it’s £14 now. I also have a huge one that I can sear food I too – it’s great for when I’m cooking for 9 of us, although I tend not to bother with searing things. I have been contemplating getting a toty 2 person one too. You can guess that I love my slow cooker! Oops! Guess I misunderstood your request, sorry!

    SC Brisket
    1.2kg brisket joint
    250ml red wine
    1 ½ tblsp Worcestershire sauce
    125ml water
    1 bay leaf
    6 sprigs fresh thyme
    300g carrots, in chunks
    4-6 onions, cut in quarters
    1 bulb garlic, sliced
(4tblsp cornflour, 1-2 tsp light muscovado sugar, S&P)

Put all ingredients except those in brackets into the slow cooker.
Make sure thyme and bay leaf are submerged.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Make gravy with the bracket ingredients and remaining juice.

I usually use a smaller joint and dried thyme and less liquid, often omitting wine. I rarely bother making gravy. I

    Oh, bubbs, those look tasty!

I like this quote – it seems quite pertinent to how I feel right now:
