Good morning everyone, rather grey here and expect we will get rain.

Thanks nmlc and very happy anniversary wishes to you.

Masses to do today, as we are going to North Wales for 6 nights in the caravan, food and clothes to pack, although the fridge is on (the joy of keeping van on drive and not in storage) and everything from yesterday's shop is already in there. I was so looking forward to going, but less so now as I have had a very busy few days, baking, pickling, visiting friends/family and seem to have run out of spoons. Will be taking it easy and a new book is already packed:D

One of my DBs phoned yesterday to say that mum had fallen and banged her head on the hearth. A dear friend and her family got her up and tended to her cut head etc, after S having checked that it did not need stitching Ma refused to go to hospital and seemed bright and cheerful when I phoned her, other siblings and wonderful next door neighbour will keep an eye on her so I think it is OK to carry on with our hols. I am the only one that is retired so it is down to me if mum needs anyone to stay with her, have had to cut short holiday before, so fingers crossed:)

Gentle hugs and spoons to all that need them, I will be hopefully reading the next few days, but not good at posting on my tablet:eek:

  • Good morning everyone and normality reigns once more ,boys back at school, and a list of jobs to do. Chiropodist this afternoon (I know how to enjoy myself on a wet Monday afternoon don't I :):)).
Tomorrow morning its U3A coffee morning to catch up with all my chums and hear about their holidays ,then after lunch i have to pick up DGD Holly and run her to Sittingbourne outpatients as she broke a bone in her foot a couple of weeks ago and has the follow up appointment (she's clumping around in a boot at the moment.
DGS Ben and his g/f are flying off to Tokyo tonight. I hope things calm down out there as they have a five hour lay-over in South Korea, bit worrying.
Right time for a cuppa ,have a good day everyone

    Cheers JackieO xx
  • Morning all,

    I had a lovely weekend.

Camelot, thanks for asking. My afternoon tea on Saturday went very well and my baking turned out just right which was a relief. We all left my house to drive to see my niece which was nice. A lovely Saturday.

Yesterday I didn't do too much. Family dinner, which as usual was lovely.

Back to the grind now. Opted against the gym this morning for a longer lie but I'm playing football tonight so that'll be my exercise.

Need a cuppa to get me going.

    Have a good day!

    Morning everyone,

Thanks for the thread nmlc, your BBQ sounds lovely.
Hope your Mum is ok Maddie and that you manage to get away as planned.

Dull and overcast here but really quite mild, I am fasting this morning so just a coffee for breakfast, give my tummy a rest after large Sunday lunch and ginger cake yesterday.
Need to do a few bits around the house this morning then will pop out for a while, Tilly needs some more food, the car needs filling up and I have a small list of urgent needs for Lulu, new head collar, water buckets etc.
I think tea will be fish cakes (HM but in the freezer) with sweet pot mash and veg.

Have a good day folks x
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Came through to the kitchen to find G working on the shed base, he is not working at his normal job today. So we can now chivvy the council to get the ground sprayed.

Monday clean done, I set too yesterday to take the sewing room to bits and clean it, did the window, this morning I have shoved the Dyson over the carpet.......need to ring and arrange to get my sewing machine uplifted for a service.

OH has requested egg chips and beans tonight, so thats supper sorted, the chicken yesterday was delicious. we had meringue with raspberries for dessert.

    Good morning everyone :hello:

It's a dull but dry day here this morning. Lilly started college this morning and I had a phonecall at 8.30 to say the bus she was on had been in a crash and the back window was smashed in. She was panicking a bit because she was going to be late but all I cared about was if she was hurt. Thankfully she was absolutely fine, just a bit shaken up.

Phoebe has just got up and Becky is still in bed as they don't start back to school until tomorrow. I will have to get Becky up in a minute though as she has to take her meds in the morning.

I have been baking, there is a lovely scent of lemon drizzle cake in the air and it's making my tummy rumble. I have been awake since 4am so my breakfast was really early too. I will hold out till lunch time as I have some leftover stew to heat and enjoy. Tonight I am making some cheesy meatballs and sauce with pasta for the family and maybe a small piece of garlic bread for me.

I've made a list of things to do today and I am enjoying ticking them off as I go. I luuurve lists :D:D. It helps to calm my thoughts down as well so it's win-win for me.

Congratulations to nmlc for your wedding anniversary. Glad you had a nice day x

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Hi all

Quiet day today before the week starts in earnest tomorrow. DH got up on a mission to cancel SKY. We haven't been watching much tv recently and found a lot of it was freeview anyway. We have a freeview box in the loft so will dig it out. That leaves us with broadband and line rental £32 monthly so will look around for a new provider for that.

Took some Finest outdoor reared bacon back to Tesco as when I cooked a couple of rashers white goo came out and it shrivelled right up. Not what you expect when a product is labelled Finest. Bah! Will source my meat elsewhere from now on.

Dumpling glad your daughter is ok. I was in a bus accident once-it is scary.

Have a good day everyone. Hugs and spoons to all who need them.

I wish to goodness Mr LW would agree to dump $ky tv; we don't watch very much tv at all, and what we do watch I could quite happily do without; but the account is in his name, and he won't cancel it; he used to watch a lot of tv when he lived alone, and I think he's sort of scared to be without it, if that makes sense. I did get him to agree to downgrade the package, so that's something I suppose.

  • Been to the 'Trotter doc's' and had my hooves pared down to a normal level, getting old is 'such fun' :) ,also picked up some new batteries for my hearing aid from the Doctors surgery.

Recycling at DDs all out the front and ready for the morning. DGS Henry enjoyed his introductory morning to 6th form, they are all back at school tomorrow full time

Sky had got very dark, think we are in for some rain although its quite warm.

Dumpling I'm glad your DD is OK it must have given you both quite a turn.

Feet up with a cuppa at the moment :)

    Take care all

  • LW we suddenly realised we were paying £70 per month! So now £32 for broadband and line rental from next month. .We are going to shop around for a cheaper deal on those too.

Hope you feel livelier soon. Sending spoons.
