VOXI from Vodafone
Vodafone launches VOXI on 8th September.
Tariffs start at £10 a month, which offers unlimited standard calls, text messages, MMS and 2Gbytes of data. Data for "selected social and chat apps" does not come out of allowances, providing a monthly plan is active.
Out of plan charges are high.
They'll offer inclusive music and video passes in the future.
'Oldies' not welcome. They don't want punters who are older than 25. No idea how (or if) they'll police that, though.

That means you can use Snapchat, Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Viber and Facebook Messenger as much as you want, without eating into your 30 day data allowance.

You have to produce ID an activating, to prove you're under 25.
I can see that they have two problems. It's all obviously designed in a patronising way by people who think they are "down with the kids". Liam Payne sang at the launch, example. That's going to put off their target market unless they are going for early teens!
The under 25 rule could lead to an challenge under the equality act 2010. Vodafone would have to show there was a valid reason to directly discriminate based on age.0 -
Both my kids are on Vodafone...one on PAYG and the other SIM only plan.
Thinking of moving them both to this but ....... as with all things Vodafone it could go wrong.
Need to claim the PAYG reward points before moving or they will disappear into the ether and the SIM only plan may need to wait until the upgrade date has arrived.
Appears to be a no brainer for the PAYG account where the holder is just off to Uni for the first time..... He'll have no excuses for not calling his mother!
Also appears to be no app yet ...I wonder if the My Vodafone app would still work with this?0 -
An industry first, a special youth targeted brand, says some of the advertising blurb.
Apart from some others, which closed down, such as Blyk0 -
Turns out that anyone on a Vodafone sim only or monthly contract wanting to transfer to VOXI does indeed have to wait until the contract ends or a termination fee will be charged. Existing SIM can be used AFAIK.

Advice if anyone can help -
Daughter contract about to end and she probably doesn't currently need a handset at Uni so needs DATA and probably Spotify too.
My contract is Unlimited Texts and Mins with 20GB rolling 30day @ £21.25 with Spotify ending 12th Feb.
Other daughter has a year on her contract with them unlimited text and calls with 6GB of data (which she sometimes goes over)
Would there be any scope for change on this do you think ?
As I have 3 with them will they be nice to me ?
Any words of wisdom appreciated.0 -
checking this new VOXI thingy reviews etc.
(Reason is simple, I need decent back up SIM, that would work-have 2g coverage, main data SIM is with EE)
Utterly lost what TF VodaSh&%t is playing now in "marketing" after absorbing-killing TalkMobile, in Launching this side-kick?
I agree, as network, ideally it should get closed due to business practices being unacceptably poor, but marketed as different network, bun managed by the same scam of a CS framework?
Any feedback on real dealings with them?0 -
I was with Vodafone a couple of years ago. EVERY aspect of this companies operations were A COMPLETE SHAMBLES. Avoid at all cost ! Then went to 3, who were ok . Three weeks ago signed up with iD from Carphone Warehouse. A week later this website recommended iD as a top value deal. I can confirm that. THEY ARE EXCELLENT. £5/month for 250mins+5000txt+1.5Gb. EVERYTHING well laid out, A1 cust. service 10 out of 10. Highly Recommend. Happy Xmas from London 2017 !0

My previous Vodafone "experience" was that EVERY aspect of their operations was a COMPLETE SHAMBLES. I'm now with iD from Carphone Warehouse. EXCELLENT value & service. Highly recommend. Also 2 weeks after I started with them MSE were recommending them as top value deal. That was only a couple of weeks ago, ie early Dec 2017. I get 250mins + 5000txts + 1.5Gb all for £5 per month. Short one month rolling contract. I am very happy with that. I suggest u check them out. Happy Xmas 20170
