  • #5 7/16 I'm still on track this month & this challenge has definitely stopped me from going to the canteen or shop! Well done everyone :T
Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.

Yep, I'm up at 5 during the week, they joys of a two hour commute
  • Morning all. I am on 5/14. Finding it a bit more challenging this week as I am so busy, Just about resisting falling back into old bad habits!
Aiming to early retire December 31st 2026.
  • My first full week at this ....this week so far: 2 x salad and crackers brought from home. Supplemented by apples and oranges.
1 x lunch supplied by work (it's free so I'm counting it as not having bought anything!).
Today - was in too much of a hurry this morning to faff with salad, so grabbed a tin of soup from the cupboard on the way out. + more fruit!

  • So an unexpected surprise at work today. One of my colleagues is leaving and for his last day has ordered pizzas for everyone in the team for dinner! So my home made soup can stay in the staff fridge until tomorrow and I won't have to make another dinner. :)

  • Can I join please? I'm a lapsed DFW and have struggled to reduce spend on my own so am here for the support and to support others.

I started bringing lunches to work this week. First time in a few years. Tuesday and Wednesday and tomorrow (cos I bought a takeaway tonight and split it in two :naughty:). I've gotten into the habit of either buying breakfast at work or having those pot porridges that I buy in Tesco. My plan is to continue with the Tesco-bought porridge and/or get up earlier to have brekky indoors.

Lunch is where the spend is. Daily cost is anything between £4 to £6, depending on where I go.

I'm going to stick with fry-up Fridays at work which is about £3 and cut out the sausage baguette Mondays. Every little helps. I also want to put takeaways back Friday evenings a couple of times per month (twice?).

Back of a fag packet guesstimate is my spend was about £25 per week at work. I don't have the nerve to write down the cost of the almost daily takeaways, but I've got access to the information if I wobble and need a slap

    See you soon and thanks.

Yogurt and berries, left over risotto, and apple/cereal bars/boiled egg for snacks. Dehydrated as I forgot my water bottle and out of the office loads, but I'll rehydrate now I'm home.

  • Good evening all. 7/14 today. Lunch costing me around £1 to £1.50 so a good saving on a £3 meal deal.
