Been out of the money making game for a while this week and probably won't be back till next week as pretty ill. Waiting for all the drugs to kick in :(

Good luck to everyone else. I am sure I will have pages and pages to catch up on next week.

Really sorry to hear you're ill, QueenJess. I hope the meds kick in really soon and you'll be feeling 100% again before you know it. Take care:kisses3::coffee:

Lynne, when I was trying to get that massive update downloaded and installed I thought of you and when you told us about one that Microsoft contacted you about to make an appointment to download/upgrade. I recall that was a big one. I was fully expecting having to contact Microsoft to see if they could come up with a solution but, fingers crossed, it righted itself eventually. All I got, for 40 minutes on one try was the spinning 'thingy' and the message ' don't turn off your computer'. It just looked as if nothing was happening and it had got 'stuck':(

I don't like Windows 10 much, I'm still getting to grips with all its functions, and only upgraded because Windows 7 was supposed to be much more risky security-wise and they were stopping support for it. I had plenty of problems with that version over the years but I was always able to fix things myself eventually:j. I never know where to find the info I want on Win 10 but that's probably just me as I'm not very techie:o
The problem I had was that I couldn't get into my email account and all my favourites had vanished.

I was left with just a 'window' down the left-hand side of the screen. After trying on-line help and getting absolutely nowhere with the 'assistant' although live I gave up on that.

Eventually I managed to get into my settings and re-set my lappy to a previous date where I knew it was working okay. It took ages but seemed to work the trick and they didn't come back to try again. I wonder if they had lots of problems with that up-date as I happened to take it up quickly that day.

I'm not that keen on Win10 either but there wasn't any choice when I had to get a new lappy last year. I still feel I have to try to sort each problem as it surfaces and, as you know, I'm not very techie either, so it's often by trial and error

Yesterday I had to sit and watch the same message and spinner you mention, for over half-an-hour while it did an update and shut down and then again this morning for fifteen minutes when I switched it back on

I'm really not very impressed with this lappy anyway, and now I have to remember to turn off the charger as soon as it's charged else it gets too hot and switches itself off. Also it's so slow that it's like watching paint dry some days, and I do remember to clear all the carp every night and use my security system to clean it up every week. I know I should have bought a better one and now I'm saving up for a decent speed one - maybe Black Friday I might spot a decent deal.

Sorry for the long rant and post, but just to let you know I feel the same panic and pain :rotfl:
