Ryanair Cr*p Telephone Service

I require an additional copy of my emailed confirmation. It is new menu item number 2.

I have to wait a whole two minutes listening to junk about the Spaniards and the Balaerics and Morocco, and how if I wish to make a new booking on the telephone it will cost me a FOURTEEN QUID 'booking fee', before I can choose the extremely simple menu option I want and then when I choose it I get dumped out to an engaged tone.

As I alluded in the title, that's all CR*P.

    I have just tried again.

No way of shortcircuiting the menu until all the two minutes of cr*p about the Spaniards and goodness knows what else has finished, then there is a completely silent 10 second pause where no interaction whatever is possible, and only after that can you shortcircuit the menu items if you know them ...

... and get dumped out to engaged again ... d'oh!

Why don`t you just print another one from the original.

Don't insult my intelligence dmg and alared.

Have you never found yourself unable to verify an account or re-establish documentary evidence of a contract by usual means? If you haven't then you haven't been very busy.

That's where I am today - I need to reverify something for peace of mind but I don't have the original documents. Since you have jumped in with both feet in your haste to be involved then you may as well assimilate the facts:

    1. I have a jotted down booking reference, which I may have jotted down incorrectly.
    2. My main pc which contains my email archive suffered a fault a couple of weeks ago which I haven't found time to fix yet.
    3. I rarely ever print hardcopy of my confirmations - to date I have quoted the reference verbally at check in and saved trees in the process.
    4. I have already attempted to use my reference on the website and I am getting a "Sorry not recognised" type message.
    5. I have received no "Ryanair Travel Advisory" email for the flight, which is unusual because recently it has been the norm a few days prior to my other flights.

I therefore require proper customer service not some smart alec response from anyone, thanks.

So if you have the 'jotted down booking reference', why not try retrieving your booking on the website?

Don't tell me, you've changed your credit card details too!

I chose option 9 any other query this time ... phone call is already FOURTEEN minutes long and I haven't spoken to anyone yet ... disgraceful.

Alared go play in another room.

The reference may be on a bank or credit card statement.

OK I have solved the problem. Interestingly I got through after almost exactly FIFTEEN minutes. Somehow I just knew it would take that long.

My friend had to speak to them recently and it also took FIFTEEN minutes for the call to reach a call operative. Funny that isn't it?

Ryanair might wish to note that this thread has remained bumped to the top of the MSE travel forum for considerably more than FIFTEEN minutes this morning, but it will now probably fade down the list until next time. One good turn deserves another I say :money:

Now here's some further possibly interesting info for those who can't seem to access their booking online...

The Ryanair rep I just spoke to told me my booking was "Blocked" by which I think she meant I had tried to access it too many times using the wrong data, but she was using the term in a kind of broader sense and I got the distinct impression that she felt she was doing me a big favour by unblocking it.

Thinking back, I believe I inadvertently "blocked" this booking some weeks ago when I was reconfirming a number of flights after Ryanair messed about with the schedules on my main route without notifying me. I think they give you three goes at providing the correct data, then if you fail, you get a message to call the Ryanair number. I did fail, but ignored the request to call Ryanair and the net result was probably that all further activity (e.g. Advisory emails), and not just website access, had been blocked...

Yep richardw , tried hunting for that last night, and failed again obviously! Thanks for the positive suggestion, however.
