USB on TV Query

My TV has a USB port.
I have downloaded a video clip from my computer onto a USB stick but when I put the USB stick in my TV nothing happens.
By that I mean the video does not play.
Any idea why not ??

Is the video in a format the TV recognises? Do you have to go to a certain screen to play videos? On my TV you have to navigate to a video player to play videos on a USB stick. Consult the manual for your TV.0

Key is as said what Format is the video .0

Video is MP4 & it looks as though TV will only deal with MP3.
Will try & convert the video to MP30 -
MP3 is Music / Audio ONLY. Not video.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

I had to convert home videos to AVI to get them to play on my Panasonic TV.0

The video will not just start playing automatically. You need to go on the media browser/player on the TV and find the file. Once you get there it will tell you whether it can play it or not.0
