can I stream content via wifi from my humax box to a firestick

I have a humax freesat box with wifi and intend to buy a firestick for a tv located in another room. if I install kodi or equivalent on the firestick can I see the humax box as a device and stream from it. It has just occurred to me that the humax wifi connection is for access to content rather than an output. Appreciate any help with clarifying what is possible and alternative suggestions to achieve connection of my non-smart tv in the other room. I have a wifi access point in the other room connected to my router via network power adapters.
many thanks

You're right, the WiFi on the Humax is for receiving, not sending, and I don't think there's any way for it to share its content via streaming or networking.
SOME Humax boxes have USB ports you can copy stuff to, and some people have even written unofficial software for boxes to share their content via your network, but I've no experience of this and it's probably a bit advanced.
If you're buying a Fire stick, you've access to BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4 and 5 On Demand - that's the '5 main channels' covered, plus stacks of other stuff, so you mightn't need to stream from the Humax at all.0
