Were you the buyer or the seller?
If tracking shows attempted and the case was closed in favour of the seller it was done so wrongly (remember it isn't impossible for ebay to make mistakes)!0 -

I agree, if ebay did relax the rules I suspect the champagne corks on the various community boards would be popping as we spoke.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I was the seller, CS in Dublin said the case would be found in our favour and when the buyer escalated for once their advice was correct.
The buyer was having a moan about how busy they were to collect and couldn't wait in to have it re-delivered, they did how ever manage to find time to collect it first thing in the morning the day after eBay said no refund....In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
Sorry i should provide more info (although not required just to find out the answer to my question) ...
The item is £25. It's a car part which i ordered in advance to be used this week. I placed the order on i think it was 17th August. The projected delivery date was between Tues-Thurs of the following week. When i had nothing by the Thurs i contacted the seller & explained how i needed it before the Tues as that's when my car was being worked on.
Now to be fair to the seller they did offer a refund or resend after they found out the courier had lost the parcel. They said a resend (sent on Friday) should be with me by the next day - the Saturday, in time for being used on the Tuesday.
I opted for the resend and it wasn't. A card was left at my mother's address and the mechanic got the part themselves. I wanted official manufacturer parts but we had to use a different brand as my item never arrived.
As it's been fitted, that is why the item is now worthless to me. Like i say, i don't even need to open the box.0 -
you can go and refuse it without issue.
Assuming it has a return address.
You wont get a POP as you arent posting anything.0 -

Then I would suggest there is more to it. Perhaps the buyer was claiming INR constantly and this was their modus operandi. You won't know. But the written word on the seller/buyer protection remains that the item has to show a status of delivered.0 -

I picked the parcel up yesterday & i'm going to return it today but i just noticed something -
They said that they'd send it out last Friday to be with me on the Saturday in time for my car going in to the garage on Tuesday (what with there being no post on Monday due to bank holiday).
Just now i've noticed it says 2nd class signed for on the parcel.
Since when did a 2nd class post sent on a Friday ever land the next day? From my experience sending and receiving 2nd class has 99.9% of the time been 2 days where 1st class is 1 day. That is of course not a rule. I've known them to take a little longer on both 1st & 2nd class but generally speaking the quickest they arrive is 1 day for 1st class and 2 days for 2nd class.
And this seller was going to have their parcel with me the next day??0 -

I send everything second class (unless people pay for first) and a lot of my packages are received the next day - my feedback is littered with such comments. So it's not impossible, but its also a promise that I would never make to a buyer.0
