1/30 a spending day
6.24/500 on groceries recorded.
Packed lunches provided, and I was at home.
Dinner: Jerk chicken (chicken from freezer, jerk paste from store cupboard) with rice and beans (storecupboard) with a pretty sprinkle of finely chopped leek centre and deseeded red chilli (wrinkling in the fridge bottom).
Time for me: insomnia meant a 3.30 start, so I read a book in bed for an hour this morning. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

My apologies, have been off sick. Will catch up properly and list new contenders on Monday when I have a computer.
And I'll change my signatureDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Checking in as promised.
Budget done. I am rich for the weekend until I've done the CGT calculations for the money and then sent everything to the right place. I am going to keep some aside for the strategic fund which I don't have at the moment.
We are very lucky to be debt free, and have no dependents, so it's a matter of allowing me enough that I don't feel the loss of the rental income, while not eating into the capital too much.
I always take lunch to work and send DH with one, so that is no problem.
Exercise - daily. Weight, PT, running and classes.
Beauty spends - I had planned to throw out the 15year old contents of my make-up bag and restock it this month. :rotfl:
For me - I paid for a treat wardrobe weed last month. I have 3 bags of clothes to go to charity, and next Friday I have a shopping trip with her. My clothes were all 15 years old, and they are very dated, and TOO BIG:D Back in the corporate world I need to look a certain way, so I need to invest.
Heating:o Fraid it was never off.I'm sitting here in a fleece, topped with a woollen cardigan and a slanket. It's not on high, but I can't afford to get cold with my Reynauds.
So. Not hugely 'Scrimping' month at all. But I've thought about the budget carefully and I am going to try not to feel guilty about spending on me.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
At work today, so my first NSD of the month. A lift to the bus stop meant that I didn't hit 12k steps, but it was worth it to have time to chat with a friend. Did a mini workout once home - pesky hands mean that I can't use much weight at the mo, but I prefer bodyweight ones anyway.
Today I am grateful for buses running to time, for lovely colleagues, for a good chat with big sis, for time with dd, for dh cooking tea, for my workout, for a good book to read, for getting headspace done.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Evening all,
SFD number 1 achieved.
I've spent a lot of my budgets already as I run my budgets 25th to 24th and I've done all the big monthly stock ups - human and animal food.
Today I was grateful for:-
- lovely dog walks
- my temping job
- getting some more gardening done; moved some plants between the beds and potted a gifted tiny rose
- a lovely dinner
- a warm home
Thrifty I have to admit I scoffed when you said 'no heating' and the next morning it was freezing and I nearly put it on! Luckily, I remembered your rules.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hello,
Today I was pretty down, couldn't get myself going at all. Had to pay 460 for the car (service and brakes will also need new tyres in a while), spent like a loon in M and S on lunch and dinner. Sainsbury's delivered but only the storecupboard stuff not the fridge stuff so we didn't have lunch, so that was 19.35....and I bought dinner cos I was standing there starving - so yeah classic error there!
So not a good start at all.
tomorrow I need to shop for DIY stuff.........£££££££Nevertheless she persisted.0 -

Vintagebrighton any budgeted spends still lose you a SFD e.g. food, petrol etc. Usually direct debits or bills e.g. mortgage, council tax, election etc. and medicines are excempt as we don't want people being ill and not looking after themselves. So if you just buy medicine or pay a bill it's a SFD, anything else and it's a spendy day.
Hope that makes sense.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)
