I'm p!eased I kept my contract which includes ALL 08 numbers in the bundle, despite some neigh-sayers telling me at the time the relevant changes were made that they wouldn't be. It's being going up each year but still only costs .68 per month for 250 minutes. Must be costing someone a fortune, but definitely not me.

When you make calls to 084 numbers your provider has to pay out up to £4.20 per hour to the called party and their telecoms provider.
When you make calls to 087 numbers your provider has to pay out up to £7.80 per hour to the called party and their telecoms provider.
These are premium rate numbers with an additional Service Charge. They are used for chargeable services that are paid for as the call is being made.
If you aren't paying the Service Charge, all of your phone provider's other customers are having to contribute to that.
Inclusive calls to 084 and 087 numbers are becoming increasingly rare. It can't be long before they are phased out altogether.

I'm not, so they must be. I wouldn't have kept the contract three years after the minimum term otherwise.

Unless 0800 or 0808 I'd never dial an 08 number - if given, I'd refer to 'SayNoTo0870' website for an alternative. If nothing shows, a non-google search is the next option.

I used to always do that too - until I realised the sim included all such numbers so I didn't have to bother anymore.
