The vehicle category M1 is not a car, but a multi-purpose vehicle. Still the same speed limits.0

Here's my V5 info, if that helps anyone.0

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be looking at? Seems pretty clear to me.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
it's a car
that it's a trafic is only relevant if it's registered as a van, once that's changed it's the changed to body type/class that matters0 -

It's not a car, it's a multi-purpose vehicle, as stated under both Body Type (MPV) and Vehcile Category (M1). "Diesel car" is the taxation class, which is irrelevant for speed limits.0 -
ok, yes it's an mpv, what I meant was for speed limit purposes it is in the same category as a car0

While if you look at the link I provided, it states for that class of vehicle (if under 12m in length) the speed limits are 70 on the motorway, 60 on a dual carriageway and 50 on all other roads.
Which obviously is not the same speed limits as a car.
You mean this.... "A passenger vehicle, motor caravan or dual-purpose vehicle not drawing a trailer being a vehicle with an unladen weight exceeding 3·05 tonnes or adapted to carry more than 8 passengers:"???
If so, read what it says.... not what you think it says.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
OP I suggest you perhaps try and get proper legal advice or ask your local force if they can confirm in writing what speed limits apply because as I said earlier, many people have been caught out by this.
Just do a quick google and you'll see what I mean. Its been going on so long, I'm surprised they haven't sought to clarify it yet.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

Again, many thanks for all the comments - much appreciated!
I think I'll ask my local force and see what they say and report back - there does appear to be a few grey areas despite all the regulations.0
