Colour for a new kitchen

House I bought had gloss white cabinets but the very light quartz effect worktops are a 'mare for showing every mark. Def. go for a dark worktop and floor.0

A colour will date more quickly, but the woods and the ivories/whites are more boring. I went for a colour, as I've had lots of pine kitchens and really didn't want another one. 4 years on and our duck egg blue kitchen with dark grey worktop and floor still looks good.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0

Mine is a combined kitchen and utility that is long (9 metres) and quite narrow (3 metres) and with a vaulted ceiling. It's a single space that is about 2/3 kitchen and 1/3 utility. I wanted to break the room in two visually to create the look of two rooms in one space.
So my kitchen is matt white cabinets with flecked black quartz work tops and the utility is matt black cabinets with flecked white quartz worktops. It has worked really. (IMO:cool:). Walls and ceiling are white, floor is black stone tiles.0 -
I'm thinking now of a white hand painted shaker kitchen and Carrera quartz. The quartz looks like white marble with grey veins
Mt flooring is porcelain wood effect planks in maple colour with a small bit of grey in them
Thoughts please?????0
